A Potemkin Paradise

Since World War II ended and the United Nations Organization was founded to mediate international quarrels and prevent wars, one country has been behind nearly every major conflict that has jolted world peace: the USA. It is a great country that, unfortunately, squanders its stock of goodwill and reputation as well as its resources, human and material on needless and endless wars of vainglory. America has fought more wars and thereby killed more people than any other modern nation. It is trite for us to keep blaming such predation on the US government. For reasons explored in this book, particularly the constancy of foreign wars and US citizens support for them, predation now looks like a propensity of the entire American people or at least the majority.
