Preethi Steele - MG 172 Mixer Grinder

I'm a techie good at electronics and gadgets stuff. I bought this mixer for 4K few months back thinking high price=good product. I was fooled with the looks and high price factor. I wanted to surprise my mom with this steel piece with 4K price but I hear complaints every day. She is still using it just because her son bought it with love. I'm really frustrated about this product. It stops with minimal load just after sometime. It makes hell of noise (oh yeah you can wake up anybody with a shock turning it on). It smells like rubber burning after some use. No dome lock (found it after unboxing :( ). It is no good, not even close to ordinary low budget mixers. Any one giving more than 3 stars must be a sales executive for this product. When I wanted to buy a mixie i wanted to buy an Indian product instead of fancy foreign brands and I ended up with this steel crap. If someone wants to give a real feedback the review will end up with cursive words really !@#$%^&* frustrating product.

An exceptional Mixer Grinder. My family has been using this for about two months now. Its not super silent or anything, but does the job really well. The photo does it no justice, the finish and look exude a rich feel complete with a blue LED light on the front indicating that the system, is turned ON. Comes with two year standard warranty. Also the drives are rubberized with 6 spokes. If you are considering Brand reliability, then u should know that Preethi is a very good and reliable brand based in south India, which supports Motor sport racing with lots of rider sponsor-ships.

Bought this about an year ago, and have driven to their serivce centre no less than 5 times. Though at teh cochin service centre they are extremely courteous and give you a fast solution, that you need replacement of bearings very 8 weeks is a shame. It was under warranty till now, i think I will have to go for new grinder after warranty. The most irritable about this one is the noise; you might as well sign up for siren contract and work this, if you are staying in an apartment complex.

My mother bought this from a local store and is not at all satisfied with the product. The problems encountered were.

1. Motor is not powerful enough.(Motor speed is not sufficient)
2. The washers below the rotor blades loosened and come out within a 2 to 3 days of using it.
3. The content in the jar doesn't mix evenly/properly (content on top stays there itself and the content at the bottom gets pulverised).
4. Makes a hell of a lot noise.
5. Can't be used heavy duty grinding.

The dry Grinder --- is ok --makes lot of noise
The wet grinder --- Pathetic is the word --- doesnt do the job ..no grinding only
stopping and making noise

over all its a bad product from Preethi ..we have almost decided to buy a new one ..after six months of struggle......

there is no 0 * else i would have given that ..to the money you spend its a waste please don't buy
