First of all I was not going at all for a Indian Brand. But one of my good advisors suggested this model. The thing is you may get a Non Indian Brand but still the Utensils you will need will be Indian, so compatibility is again was issue
Bought his Model with a Bundle offer of 3 Cookset with Glass Lid at 3995Rs from Prestige Outlet.
Performance-
I bought this to learn cooking actually, I am not Hardcore cook :)
Basic cooking, Milk Boiling, Chapati Quite good.
"option for Idli " is yet to try
Advantage-
* Adjustable Temperature with nice Diplay
* Cooking Programs are very good It changes the way you Heat
* It has timer
* Metallic Body good to clean after lots of food spillage
* Milk Boiling is hasselfree
* Prestige Post Sells service is qute good uslike other brands even *&^$%#@!~~ Philips
* Free Utensiles (from Prestige Outlet) are best Quality
* Not so noisy
* Buttons are sturdy but not Feather Touch
* Prestigue Utensiles if brought in Future will be compatible
* Good decision in Low Budget
Disadvantges-
^ Wiping of top surface is neccesary after each use with wet Cloth
^ cant keep Utensil resting on Cook Top after use, it may damage it
^ KEEP AWAY BUGS or Cook Top will be ruined (common Induction cook Top Problem )
^ Electricity Bill will make you cry on Heavy usage (common Induction cook Top Problem)
^ No Glass coating on Top Surface
^ Cheap Market utensils are complete useless
Suggestions-
Better go for V3.0 it has complete Glass Top and Catchy LED Display but it has same Pragram as v2.0
Best For-
Students, Bachelors, Job-sters, Non family usage
You can totally Go for it.
I have been using this cooktop for the past 6 months. I cook all items on this. "curry" mode is useful for almost all dishes. "boil milk" can be used just like we reduce the flame to minimum in gas stoves. it is too low even to boil milk. it is difficult to make dosas as the temp. regulation is not too good in the "roti/dosa" mode. that is the only flaw. chapatis can be prepared in "fry" mode. "saute" mode can be used when we want things done quickly. temperature can always be regulated whichever mode we select. bu it cant be changed in "idli" and "roti/dosa". be careful when selecting "pressure cook" mode as they have preset highest temp. for that. it has to be reduced after first whistle, or the food will get burnt.
To sum it up, its quite a good product. better than the other brands that i have used. its a must have for beginners in cooking.
It is a good one to make curry, pressure cook, idli. The dosa setting is awful with a non stick. The dosa or chapathi takes ages to cook. If we use other settings, its over heating sensor stops the cooktop with a error message. I am cooking right now dosa and chapathi in traditional cast iron which tastes better ;). Optimal setting for boiling milk is curry mode, though boil milk is present it will never boil the milk. Saute mode, bring down to two points or else everything will burn. Pressure cook in high till first whistle, bring down to 3 points and keep 10 min for chana etc. 5 to 7 min for lentils. Its an okay okay cooktop. Normally induction cooktop needs sometime for us to get adjusted. Always keep around 3 points. You can increase if you need. The preset setting are useless in this cooktop.
This is my second Induction Cook-top from Prestige.
1. The build quality is very good. Only thing you should be careful is prevent any oil or milk from spilling over the top. It may withstand a few times but not every time. The switch board especially needs special care.
2. The electricity bills on normal usage doesn't seem to be very high. I found only a reasonable increase with approx 1-1.15 hrs usage everyday.
3. The menu options are not practical except for a few. Most of the time you use only the 'hotpot' menu and control the Watt.
4. Good companion for bachelors,Students etc
5. There good enough number of Service centers for Prestige - That too makes it a good choice.
Prestige Induction is the first choice of the people due to its dual heat sensors, anti-magnetic wall & unique design. It not just makes cooking very easy but also is a perfect combination of elegant looks and multiple functions. It is more efficient, less expensive to use and also emit less heat when compared to a conventional stovetop. It has a big metallic ring on the surface, probably meant to avoid slipping off the cooker from the surface. This ring spoils the look of the glass top and also could make it difficult to clean the surface. Lotus Electronics provide more offers on Prestige Induction Cooker 1.0 V2.
