Nice book for learning basic programming in C

Nice & clear explanations of basic concepts of C language. Language of the book is clear and easy to understand. Problems are not very tough, easier to understand the concepts. Recommended & must read for beginners in C.

Great book for beginners

This is a very helpful and up to date book on C-Programming. The language of the book is lucid and the flow fluid.

The book quite clearly for beginners in C-Programming. Yet, those with no idea may find catching up a bit difficult. So if you have some idea of what programming and then this book will sincerely help you improve your C skills.

The coverage is good for a beginners book - Memory allocation, Pre-processor, pointers, I/O are all covered in a manner suitable.

4th Edition is soon going to get released!!!

Fourth Edition of this book seems to get launched in September (in U.S and no Idea about availability of its Indian reprint). So people can wait whoever has no any urgent requirement

Problem with this book

I experienced the same problem with this book as experienced by Suresh Odrani. The seller is WS Retail and I have found defects in many books where the seller was WS Retail. They never check if the books have defect even when sending a replacement copy.

Indian version has typesetting errors and missing pages !

The Indian version has low quality pages which are almost translucent. The first 2 chapters are jumbled with missing pages and pages out of sequence. The book is fine but the Indian version makes it almost non-readable. I asked for a replacement and the replaced book also had the exact same errors ie. the publisher is not even taking the pains of proof-reading the book. One of the worst experience reading a book that almost made me throw the book away and go for Deitel & Deitel one.

Missing pages.....

As awesome the book, i was hugely disappointed when i found that 8 pages are missing from chapter 10. Damn...now i feel cheated. My poor rating is totally on account of seller who are selling book with missing pages.
