In this medieval adventure, a girl named Mouse works in a manor's scullery, dreaming of a different life. But what chance does she have? After seeing a puppet play, she runs away, determined to become the puppeteer's apprentice.

Mouse, a timid orphan growing up in medieval England, has little happiness in the world.
