Book: Q & A
In this spectacular debut novel, newcomer Vikas Swarup delivers the exhilarating story of an impoverished semi-literate Indian waiter who stuns the world by correctly answering all 12 questions on the game show, "Who Will Win a Billion."

Vikas Swarup's spectacular debut novel opens in a jail cell in Mumbai, India, where Ram Mohammad Thomas is being held after correctly answering all twelve questions on India's biggest quiz show, "Who Will Win a Billion?" It is hard to believe that a poor orphan who has never read a newspaper or gone to school could win such a contest. But through a series of exhilarating tales Ram explains to his lawyer how episodes in his life gave him the answer to each question.

Ram takes us on an amazing review of his own history -- from the day he was found as a baby in the clothes donation box of a Delhi church to his employment by a faded Bollywood star to his adventure with a security-crazed Australian army colonel to his career as an overly creative tour guide at the Taj Mahal.

Swarup's "Q & A" is a beguiling blend of high comedy, drama, and romance that reveals how we know what we know -- not just about trivia, but about life itself. Cutting across humanity in all its squalor and glory, Vikas Swarup presents a kaleidoscopic vision of the struggle between good and evil -- and what happens when one boy has no other choice in life but to survive.

the second u look at the title u would say to the bookkeeper "please pack this book, i wanna take this at home" .........a mind blowing and very interesting book espcially for the teenagers and bachelors.
a must read.
*Sad...
Review by Rohit Verma
I expected it to be an interesting book...story was interesting but narration was boring...for the first time I felt movie is better than the book....usually books are far better than movies...
It should rather have been a consolidation of short stories, similar to "quiver of arrows" by Jeffery Archer...
I would suggest skip this book and watch movie instead( which is better than book but just ok as a movie)
My take : 6 out 10.
*A great story

*Helps for everyone
Review by Gyan Prakash
I think this book teach us that every person should help to every person. The title of this book slumdog why? Maybe herewith slumbou, slummen, slumgirl or every things. The cause of this is we know while driving a car or u stop the Red light then u have a dog in a car. If suddenly comes a poor man for helps u escape them. why because of the valuation of the man is better than dog. So i suggest all of u guys u don't do this.

Review by Chance Ratcliff
This book was good at the begining , middle , and end i loved every word in the book the emotion was true this is unlike any book i have ever read.
*Superb Book
Review by Mandar
I thoroughly enjoyed the book.... It was so much better and realistic than the movie. To give an example... the story about Super Hero (Amitabh in movie) is so different from the movie. In the movie, it has been shown the way western media will like it (a boy emerging out of human shit)... In the movie it is about shocking reality of a super-star (which is very common in the west).... To all who have seen the movie, i sincerly urge to read the book....
