A Quiet Courage (English, Audiobook, Kaushik Viswanath, Sharanya Manivannan, Manohar Devadoss, Nosherwan Jehangir)
Manohar and Mahema Devadoss thought their cup of joy was overflowing when tragedy struck. Mahema was rendered quadriplegic by a cruel accident, and Manohar was robbed of his eyesight. The obstacles seemed insurmountable. But with courage and dignity, they decided to take charge of their lives once again. Charkha presents this poignant story as a musical audiobook, accompanied by 10 postcard prints of Manohar Devadosss evocative paintings.
About the Author
Manohar Devadoss has been drawing for as long as he can remember. With a Masters degree in Chemistry from Oberlin College in the USA, he was professionally employed in science, technology, and design until 2002. Encouraged by his wife Mahema, he took up art as his second profession and learned to do watercolours and ink drawings. Manohar began to lose his eyesight in 1973 due to a genetic disorder. Despite failing vision, Manohar began creating intricate paintings and had several books published, including 2 books on Madurai and 2 books on his relationship with Mahema. Manohars ink drawings are also to be found on a series of heritage greeting cards, proceeds of which go to deserving organisations. Manohars art is widely exhibited and sold and the proceeds go to charity. Now, nearly blind, at the age of 75, Manohar is working on his seventh book, From an Artists Perspective.
