Barsaat

Pran and Gopal are traveling in a convertible in the Indian countryside but the car breaks down. Near Satpur they come across a village and rest there for a few days. While there Gopal meets with Neela, while Pran meets with Reshma, and the couples fall in love with each other. Gopal, who fancies himself a Casanova of sorts, has no qualms whatsoever of leaving Neela and going out with other women, while Pran is unable to get Reshma out of his mind. The two leave, promising to return during the monsoon season. While in the city, Pran is unable to make up his mind about returning to Reshma, and Gopal prefers the company of two dancing girls, Lily and Ruby, not knowing that Reshma is shortly to be married to Bholu, while Neela, on the verge of killing herself, is anxiously awaiting Gopal's return. Watch what happens when Bholu takes Reshma to the city.

Awaara

Raju lives as a derelict as a result of being estranged from his bitter father, a district judge, who threw Raju's mother out of the house years ago. Raju shacks up with a Dacoit (pickpocket bandit) as his surrogate father only to realize that the man is actually responsible for the original misunderstanding between his parents. Raju kills him, and then tries killing his father, but fails, is arrested, and is taken to court right before his very own father, who presides there as the Judge. Raju has his childhood girlfriend as his legal representative, and the onus is now on his father, who must pass judgment without showing any personal sentiment.

Shree 420

Wearing torn Japanese shoes, English trousers, a red Russian cap, and a Hindustani heart, orphaned Ranbir Raj comes to Bombay to make his fortune. He pawns his gold medal, gambles with the money, loses everything, & the balance is pick-pocketed. He ends up on the beach, meets with Vidya Shastri, a teacher who runs a private school, and both fall in love. Ranbir gets a job in a laundry. When he goes to deliver some clothes to Maya, she notices that he has a way with cards, gets him to accompany her to a casino of sorts, where he wins Rs.20000/-, which unfortunately is pocketed by Maya. Then a rich industrialist, Sonanand Dharmachand, approaches Ranbir, hires him to work for him, and soon Ranbir is on his way to a wealthy life. Vidya gets a first hand look at this wealthy life, and decides to break up with him. Sonachand teaches Ranbir that in order to make money one must never discriminate between the rich and poor. So they set out to offer homes to the homeless for Rs.100/-. Watch what happens when Ranbir finds out that Sonachand has been setting him up to be the fall guy.

Jis Desh Men Ganga Behti Hai

Orphaned lives a poor lifestyle in Central India and makes living singing songs. One day he comes to the assistance of an injured man, and before he knows it, he is abducted and held by a band of bandits, who believe that he is an undercover policeman. The man he assisted is none other than Sardar, the bandit's leader, who treats him like a honored guest, and eventually his daughter, Kammo, and Raju fall in love with each other. Kammo convinces Raju that they are socialists and are just making sure that wealth is equally distributed. Then Raju is asked to accompany the bandits to a wedding feast where he witnesses a child, and the wedded couple getting killed. He figures that he has had enough and goes to the Police, who decide to confront and kill the bandits. Unable to see their deaths, Raju goes to warn the bandits, but is shunned. Than a militant bandit named Raka kills the Sardar, takes over the bandits and decides to forcibly wed Kammo. The question is what can Raju do under these circumstances?
