Rahul (Paperback) Price: Rs.364

The first engaging and authoritative biography of Rahul Gandhi

Perceptions of Rahul Gandhi have ranged from the great Indian hope to that of an over-promoted dynastic scion. Everyone has an opinion, but the man himself remains opaque, his public persona confined to positions on political events, policies or programmes.Who is Rahul Gandhi???the real man???beneath the hype and the hatchet jobs? What are the ideas and influences that propel him? Who are his advisers? And how will he tackle his new responsibilities as his mother, Sonia Gandhi, makes way for him?

Two young journalists, Jatin Gandhi and Veenu Sandhu, trace the evolution of the Rahul brand and explore the fascinating relationship between modernity and dynasty in this incisive political biography.

About the Author
Jatin Gandhi has reported from different parts of India for the last fifteen years for both print and electronic media, including the Hindustan Times, the Indian Express, Times Now, Star News and wahindia.com. He is currently Deputy Political Editor with the Delhi-based weekly, Open, and writes on politics and policy. He has covered Rahul Gandhi since he entered the political arena.

Veenu Sandhu has reported on a range of subjects in a career that spans fifteen years and which includes stints at the Indian Express, the Hindustan Times and NDTV 24x7. She is currently Features Editor with Business Standard in Delhi.

A horrible book with Bad Motto

Writing a book on Rahul Gandhi was not exactly a magical idea. Rahul is a political Leader who has achieved nothing significant yet. And the author has failed to reveal any good insights abouts the allegations put forward by Dr. Subramaniam Swamy.

A better way to invest your money is to buy Abhinav Bindra's "A shot at History"...He unlike Rahul has done a lot for the country.

Real analysis!!!

First of all, through out the reading, I was pondering, with what motto this book is written. Is the subject worth enough to write about? I mean there is no other motto apart from money to write on such personalities such as Rahul Gandhi and Sidhhartha Malya(Vijay Malya's heir).

They have not achieved or even do not show any prospects that in future they can achieve something worth talking, leave apart writing a book on them.

I think such subjects are worth only when you are in transit and dont have access to anything better than this.

I would have considered it an average read, even if the writer would have cleared the conscience on the allegations about the subject.

Please dont waste time and intellect on such books. We should really discourage this practise to write about the hot cakes which is nothing but a bitter loaf after settling down.

This book is sham!

"And how will he tackle his new responsibilities as his mother, Sonia Gandhi, makes way for him?"

India is a democratic country. Which means that mother cannot "make way" for the son to become PM. And that mother got to be the top person of Congress only because she was Rajiv Gandhi's wife. In no way these 2 facts are democratic!

So no matter what *facts* the authors present, the idea of the book itself is wrong. Oh and by the way real *facts* about Rahul are available on the internet for anyone to read.

Rahul by Jatin Gandhi

At least one thing is for sure..so far Rahul Gandhi has not shown that either he is a people's person or that he has a strong intellectual or political acumen. Barring few dramatic appearances (noida case) and disappearances (after he is taken in so called custody)he has not done much. His views on burning issues are sketchy and ill-formed. He has mood swings and is not able to speak articulately (case in point is his reply on his speech in Parliament during Janlokpal agitation in Delhi) to media except when they are singing paeans in his praise. He has I believe nothing to show except his grand lineage.

I wish i could give negative stars

Total waste of money and time.
On the other hand this book of Navin Gulia (In quest of last Victory) in the same section (Autobiography) has hit the best seller button. Not having born with Silver Spoon like Mr Rahul Gandhi and meeting with fatal accident while undergoing training at Indian Military Academy, rendering him totally paralysed, he overcame all odds to become a WINNER. Must read for biography lover. His book has got maximum 5 Star rating in History of FLIPKART.
