Summary Of The Book
Read Yourself Ladybird Level 1 comprises 6 classic stories for the young readers. The first story The Enormous Turnip is about a man who plants a seed, which grows into an enormous Turnip - so big that he cannot move it.
The Magic Porridge Pot is the second of the 6 titles. It is a folk tale about a simple village girl who gets a Magic Porridge Pot from a woman in the forest. The Magic Pot cooks porridge when the girl says “cook little pot, cook” and stops cooking when she says “stop little pot, stop”.
The 3rd title is the popular The Ugly Duckling, a fairy tale of a poor duckling. The little duckling was born ugly and had to bear the scorn of every one.
The fourth book in the package is Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a nursery story of a girl who walks into the empty house of three bears, eats the porridge on the table, and then goes to sleep on one of the beds. The bears return to find this surprise visitor.
The fifth in the series is the story of the Little Red Hen who lives in a farm with three friends: a lazy dog, a sleepy cat and a noisy yellow duck. The hen finds some wheat seeds and seeks the help of her friends to plant it.
The sixth and the last of the nursery tales is The Three Billy Goats Gruff. This is the story about three Goats, named Gruff, and what happens when they try to cross a bridge, under which lives a Troll who is waiting to gobble them up.

Read it Yourself Level 1
These books were recommended by my kid's teacher, and I find them to be very well structured for 5-6 year old.
The fonts are big, each page has 1 to 3 lines only.
Since the language and repetition of words is thought of very well, it makes the book set a great product.
Since my kid was 6 years already, maybe I should have started from Level 2 since level 1 was easy for him.

Ladybird books level 1
My 4.5 yr old really enjoyed reading the books. Besides everthing else these books because of their format instill confidence in the kids who have just started reading sentences. It encourages them to read further...like my kid who is keen to read level 2. These books have repeatitive sentences...in a way child mugs them....but he/she is very happy to read the storybook himself/herself....
I will also like to thank flipkart for the superb service and the cost is also less as compared to the market....

Great Buy
My nephew is a big fan of stories..initially I told him stories through the pictures and now that he has started reading the small small and simple words make it awesome for his first read..hence can be used for a longer span of time..plus it a steal once you buy from Flipkart..found the set at a price of Rs.650 at the mall in my city

Level 1 Ladybird Read Yourself series books are great even for children who have just started to identify Big alphabets. Even though the words do not matter, the illustrations in it certainly will attract even a 2 year old. A parent can tell the story to the kid in their mother tongue and perhaps use the same book to introduce them to reading books. Each of the six books are very good. Certainly a must in case you like to buy books for your children!

Very Useful
My son was finding it difficult to catch up with stories I read to him from other books for his age. I am happy I remembered Ladybird series from my childhood. Bought this set a few months back.
My son adores the stories and tries to read it himself though he is only learning to spell now.. The illustrations are really beautiful. This is definitely a keeper!!!
This has helped in his fluency in English and also his confidence in tackling new words.
