Red Gear Dual USB Charger

This charger is not suitable for Blackberry and Samsung devices. This is written clearly as 'Caution' in the product package. I do not know why this has not been included in the summary. I think for the convenience of customers, such important points should not be ommitted from the summary

The charger gets too hot
It doesn't charge Blackberry
It doesn't charge samsung

it does charge the devices faster(not too fast) as mentioned but i do not know if it affects the device or not.

i am not using this charger anymore

The hard plastic packaging in which the device came in was damaged,the device itself was in fairly good condition except for a couple of minor scractehes here and there.

The charger seems like a ok design,I was able to charge my motorola atrix 2 fairly quickly. i could charge it from 15% to fully charged in like around an hour,which is faster than the motorola charger.

The charger is rated for 10W , I dont expect it to deliver that much though for a long time since it got pretty hot ,Almost on the verge of getting burnt while charging my almost flat atrix 2 for like an hour!! So charging two completely flat devices simultaneously on this one would not be a good idea! Although i must say that this can make a good spare backup charger in case you loose your original charger.

I Intend to run My Raspberry Pi Computer off of this ,and i've been running it continously off of this for the past 48 hours now ,in this case the charger was only slightly warm,Perfect for the application!

Also the nerd in me wanted to check the performance parameters of this thing. I checked on a DSO the voltage dropped like 50-75mV and the noise was around 50-100 mV on a load drawing 500mA. That's a pretty good performance for a supply at this price point,Way Safer and better than those el-cheapo noname Chinese USB chargers!

I bought this because the power strip I had in my entertainment console was full - to the point that the number of connections back there seemed like a joke. It is rated at 10W 2.1A charger that is MORE than sufficient to charge/power your devices over USB.

I used this to fast-charge my cellphone and run my Raspberry Pi at the same time. The power output, in fact, is so good that I can run a 1TB HDD off the PI and have a USB hub (unpowered) connected to the other USB slot on the Pi to which are connected a 16GB pen drive, a IR Mouse receiver and a Netgear Wireless Micro Wifi adapter.

What this means is: It's powerful enough to charge a phone and power an HDD, pen drive, IR receiver, wifi adapter AND a Raspberri Pi. All at the same time. And no, it doesn't heat up - my setup runs 24x7 in the sweltering 45C heat of Delhi summers!

I recently bought this item and as usual the delivery was prompt...5stars!!!

I bought this to power my RaspberryPi and 1TB External hard disk. It works like a charm and after sustained use for 5-6 hours it does get slightly warm which is expected. Also i tried to charge couple of phone in our household including a Samsung and Sony and it did work. Probably high end Samsung devices do not work with this charger as some people were complaining. The packaging was excellent and is a recommended product!
