Red Gear Wireless Controller Gamepad

NOTE:- I have been using this for almost 4 weeks now.

The Red Gear Wireless controller for the PS2 is without doubt the best alternative to the official, more expensive Katana Wireless Controller.

THE GOOD STUFFS:-

Its highly durable and can withstand a lot of torture. The buttons feel extremely sharp and crisp. And the best part - its has THE most battery efficiency ever. I am using the same cheap, Chinese, Rs. 7 AAA batteries for all this 4 weeks now, and yes, with vibration enabled. If you prefer disabling vibration, the batteries will probably last for months :O

When I first started using this, the 2 analog sticks felt very weird and clumsy as they needed more pressure to operate compared to the original Sony Wired Controller. Also it felt as if they were jammed or something. Although after a few game-plays, they started to feel smoother and now, its completely gone. But the sticks still do require more pressure (compared to the original Sony Wired Controller).

A few bad things that I can thing of:-

1> Its power-on switch is cheaper and less durable in design than the rest of its body. So I prefer to keep it in ON position and let the controller go into sleep mode rather than switching it on and off repeatedly.

2> The Wireless adapter that plugs into your PS2 is also very rickety unlike the exceptionally designed controller itself. But you wouldn't be touching it all that, so its fine

OVERALL:-

If you are looking for a good PS2 wireless controller, then this is it. I have tried a couple others, and have found that there are no 'cheaper and better' wireless controllers for the PS2.
There are cheaper ones all right... but not better!

I got this red wireless gamepad today. As usual there are nothing to complain about flipkart's quality service and fast delivery with secure packing.

This game pad looks promising with its sturdy outer red plastic. I like its unique transparent design(even the receiver is transparent). The button feels good enough to play although not as smooth as Sony's. As one of the reviewer said, it's on/off button at the front side looks weak and may break at accidental drops or repeated use, so it's better to leave it on, as the controller goes to standby mode after 5 mins.

Working:
You have to use 3 AAA battery to use it. Once you pop in the battery, the LEDs at the back side start blinking. Then I put the receiver on the Ps2 and once I switched it on, instantly it got connected and there was a steady led on . The receiver too shows a bright red led to show that its powered on and another to show that its connected.

Hope it lasts long.

I bought this gamepad for my 6 years old son. It is really superb for playing ps2 games for him. Its transparent design and vibrations are very much attracting for him to play hourly.He is playing 15 feet away from the ps2 console and it is working fine. There is no problem for his eyesight and thanks to flipkart.So gamers can buy this gamepad without having doubt from Flipkart.
Moreover Flipkart's packing is so good and delivered relatively faster than other online shops.

The product is very good. I find it very useful as it's wireless and it saves my time of clearing up the mess of cables on the floor, especially, as I have 2 dogs!!! Expecting it to be like the original Sony controller won't be fair.

I recommend it to all those who are looking for another controller for a 2-player game. It does the job beyond all expectations from a product at this price!

Big problem setting up the controllers, when i put in new Duracell batteries, the controller does not turn on, after spending about 20 mins adjusting the batteries and making sure its at the right angle and the right spot, the lights blink. Even after I succeed to get it to power on, while trying to close the pannel, it powers off again, so finally decided to use it without having to close the battery panel at the back. So start setting up your controller about 15 - 20 mins before you want to start playing
