Red Jihad: The Battle For South Asia is a political and military thriller by Sami Ahmad Khan.

    Summary of the Book

In the near future, Pakistan has turned into a complete democracy and seeks to reconcile its stance with India. However, not everyone wants peace. A jihadi leader called Yasser Basheer travels to the Red Corridor and allies himself with an Indian Naxalite commander, Agyaat. They aim to unleash India’s experimental intercontinental ballistic missile on the subcontinent. The missile changes its path and arcs towards Pakistan. In a military response, Pakistan declares war on India. The ensuing battle threatens the peace of the entire subcontinent and begins to draw several other countries into the fray.

    BUY IT!

I bought this book 'cus well, he came to my college, to talk about a bunch of stuff; this book, the writing process, writing in general... And I have to say I was impressed by the man (hence, bought the book) he has a clear thought on what he wants to say and how to get it across and on top of that is a funny guy.

The book itself is great! The idea of two opposite sides coming together is intriguing to say the less... Look, at it this way: they're on the two ends of a semi circle, what if th...

    Must Read! Amazing Novel!

This is a delicious book, I daresay. Gripping, fast-paced, engrossing, and very entertaining. The perfect combination of entertainment and information, with the right balance between masala and literariness. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read more about the South Asia we live in and is concerned in the direction we are headed, and wants to read more than just college romances/love stories which have flooded the markets these days.

For a debut novel, Khan treats, quite im...

Best Thriller I have read. Must Read!

The Red Jihad is truly the best thriller I have read in the past few years. Even with their keen Sherlock Holmes like whudunnit skills, the reader will be left gasping and spell bound by the time they end the text. The novel has a distinct techno-taste that is bound to thrill the readers and titillate their minds. The novel takes us forward to circa 2014 where we see a seemingly unusual, albeit, not an incomprehensible liaison between the Naxals and the Jehadist.

The author has done a throug...

great debut... love the thrills and suspense in this novel

Red Jihad is a great read. Very compelling story line and a beautiful narrative style...it captures how big decisions affect the lives of 'smaller people'.....It's fast, furious and informative.....Written in a very screenplay-type manner and I think a very good blockbuster can be made from it.... It's quite good for a debut.... It actually helped me see how India will react under terrorist threat....and it sounds so plausible! Good going!

Pleasant Read - Right Balance of Fact/Fiction

Good book. I felt like I was gazing into the future of South Asia when I was reading this book. As a International Relations scholar, I was pleasantly surprised with how the author has managed to treat geopolitics and terror with such delicateness and through research. To top it all, I think the nexus between Jihadis and Naxals as evinced in this book is very much on the cards. The IB has already brought out reports (courtesy The Hindu) on how these two fringe ideologies are uniting for a com...

    De-profundis-------A Must Read!!!!!

It feels I just finished watching a Christopher Nolan movie. The normal sense of the reader’s anticipation is always betrayed by the apt turns and twists in the narrative. You just can’t leave the novel if you have started. There is an intrigant who is not the intrigant----read to find out.
If there is just one word that could possibly do justice to this masterful work---its ‘sui generis’. First thing first, this novel is a debutante’s work only in name and not in character. It actually appe...

This will surely prove to be a very good read for people loving military fiction and thriller novels. This is a truly action packed novel and very entertaining too. It shows all aspects of military warfare i.e aerial, naval and ground combat. Great work by Sami Ahmad Khan.

    Well-researched... fast-paced...award-winning thriller..

Pure, filtered, adrenalin pumping "Dude-Litt"! I was a bit apprehensive buying this at first, being written by a debut writer and that too one who's not from Law Enforcement or the Military, but I am glad I picked RED JIHAD up (after I saw it had won a couple of literary awards during some litt fests).
Read it in one sitting. No, HAD to read it in one sitting - it's so engrossing!
No crappy emotions, no corny romances, no heartbreaks, no rona-dhona over CTC or a girl and no overemphasis on...
