The new type of refrigerants R12 and R134 are given greater attention. To explain the relative advantages, detailed comparison is made between HydroChloro-Fluoro-Carbon (HCFC), R22 and Hydro-Fluro-Carbon (HFC) alternatives like R410A and R407C. About C. P. Arora

C. P. Arora was formerly the Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.

The other book by this author is Thermodynamics.

C. P. Arora has a  B.E. with a P.G. Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from Roorkee University. He did his M.S. from the University of Illinois, USA.. He also has a Ph.D. in engineering from IIT, Delhi. With more than 35 years of teaching and research experience, he is a Visiting Professor at the University of Leeds, UK, University of Basra, Iraq, and California State University, Sacramento, USA. Professor Arora was a life member and the Founder President (1979-80) of the Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers and Founder Vice-President of Indian Society of Heating. He was Chairman of NCST Panel (National Council of Science and Technology) of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (1974-86). He has published a number of research papers.
