A Great Book From EinsteinA really great book for me and "those readers who, from a general scientific and philosophical point of view, are interested in the theory, but who are not conversant with the mathematical apparatus". I am mainly attracted by the preface. It is written in simple language.I have read it with rapt attention. But I have gone through some chapters again and again to visualize and understand the fact.Read it . You definitely like it.

This is an excellent piece of food for thoughtThis is relativity explained by Einstein himself, without using math. There might have been a plain English explanation that is slightly more crisp, however, would you not want to read it from the master himself? The special relativity section is especially clear, and detailed. The section on general relativity is rather brief, and gives you the sense that it is just a flavor, not the full story. Yet it gives you enough to be very interested. The English translation from German could be better, but it really does not make it inexplicable. Those who complain that the translation could not be un… (Expand)

A great book if you know what it is meant for. This is a great book for all those who really want to understand the intricacies of the theory of relativity in depth, understand its origin and appreciate the beauty of it.

Must ReadsAfter reading books by Hawking, Kaku, Greene, and others on the topic, none are more lucid as Einstein himself in describing relativity to the non-physicist. Long on my list of must-reads, I finally got this for myself. After hearing a lifetime of comments and reviews about these theories, it is a good thing to go straight to the source. The roots of relativity are suprisingly simple and may be understood through the thought experiments described within.

Relativity from its MasterThe book by Albert Einstein explains Special and General Theory of Relativity in simplest form possible. The book puts forward the problem with classical mechanics and how the inception of theory of relativity change its picture. Its a simple text regarding relativity and mathematical arguments are only on the sidelines makes it even comprehensible to laymen. But it lacks the consequence of it to modern physics and its slightly outdated.
