In accordance with your instructions I interrupted in August last the examination of Blair County, and spent the remainder of the season in the Barclay, Blossburg, and G-aines Coal Basins. For the accurate vertical sections of the coal measures in the basins, and for outline maps of the basins themselves, the Survey is indebted to Messrs. E. M.
