Resident Evil 5 (Gold Edition)

I ordered this game through Flipkart. As usual the game came to me according to their T&C No delays. Good work Flipkart. Lets move on to the game. I saw lot of videos and reviews about this Resident Evil 5 and that made me purchase this game. The graphics of this game is awesome. The AI and the enemies are more challenging. Sometimes your partner Sheba does a good job of protecting you from the enemies. The only thing after playing this game that somehow I did not like about was the controls. I have been playing lot of Gears of War, Mass Effect and many more, these games have similar controls. When you play this Resident Evil 5 the controls are different so I guess you will take time to get used to it. At the end of the day the game is fun, very exiting to play. Because of controls I would rate this game 8 out of 10.

This is one of the first few games i bought for XBOX 360 before i knew about games. And I didn’t played Resident Evil games before and i only bought this because of its franchise name and i wanted to get the experience as it was the latest entry in that series and other were not available at that time...

Once i started playing, the controls became more and more frustrating that i stopped playing it for more than 1 year. I even thought of selling it for exchange. But somehow i didn't do it because of the money i spent on it. I wanted to complete this game just for the money i spent on it and then i was able to complete it in Normal Mode. But still now the controls feels bad compared to other games i have played.

The main problem with the controls was that you cannot move while aiming. This approach gets frustrating when there are several bigger enemies and mainly during boss battles. Because u should keep maintaining a distance otherwise you will be killed... The checkpoints were helpful, because if you had died more than 3-4 times after reaching a checkpoint, it automatically saves. This happened to me during boss battles as i was dying frequently during boss battles mainly with chainsaw guy.

There were lots of weapons to buy as you progress but i only used the once i obtained in the game except few bigger weapons like grenade launcher and rocket launcher which i used mainly for boss battles. If you are playing this game to complete, save the money to use in tricky situation rather than buying all the weapons because u will get in a situation when there will be lesser ammos.

I am not saying that the game is bad. I am just saying that the controls are so irritating that you might at one point lose the interest to continue to the next level. But once you get used to the controls, the game is enjoyable. I gave justice to half the price i spent on it by completing the game in Normal Mode. Not sure whether i will continue further on veteran mode or Multiplayer in near future just because of its controls.

This game is definitely for Resident Evil Fans as you are aware of the gameplay mechanics and you don’t need my suggestion as you have better knowledge on the franchise than me. For others, there are much better and newer games with much smoother gameplay mechanics. And still if you want to try then buy a used one or rental or get it in exchange as you can get this at half or less the price than 1500 and save some money...

First off, the CONTROLS ARE GREAT. Don't worry about that. It's a great game specially if you have a friend to play co-op with. Second, amazing price. You get 4 DLC's - Lost In Nightmares, Desperate Escape, Versus (Xbox Live), The Mercenaries Reunion - and a few more other contents - Extra (virtual) figures and two costume packs with the "Gold Edition". I have never played a Resident Evil before but Resident Evil 5 is phat. It's is exactly what an action-shooter game should be like. I first played it in 2009 on the PS3 on a friend's console and was turned off by the "Controls". But after you finish a level or two and you'll actually begin to like it. I'm not much fan of Resident Evil but I actually love this one.

Indeed, a good game such as this deserves lotsa praise. Its a welcome addition for RE loyalists and newbies alike. Getting chased by hordes of zombies (majini), epic boss battles against ginormous enemies or getting around traps are just a tip of the iceberg!
Again, Flipkart has provided us with good service.
My review doesnt really matter, YOU know a game whos got so many awards is a rocking one, for sure!

Game came in today and it feels good to play in HD. Gameplay is similar to REV 4 only this time Chris (not Leon) has a partner who is really helpful during the game. Graphics are neat. Game is recommended for REV fans. Although first love will always be REV 4.
