When radio shock jock Quentin Fischer moves to the sleepy town of River Glen, Indiana he creates a maelstrom. The ratings at WRIV-FM shoot through the roof and Quentin replaces a drug habit with a new addiction. He becomes involved in a romantic triangle with a minister's daughter, the town's most prominent news anchor and the wife of Indiana's senior congressman. When Quentin is murdered, the three women become the prime suspects. One of them is tried for the crime and Chicago attorney Denise Ryland comes to defend her college sorority sister.
