About William Dalrymple

William Dalrymple is a famous Scottish historian and writer. He was born on the 20th of March 1965, in Scotland. He studied at the Ampleforth College and Trinity College, Cambridge. His writing chiefly emphasizes on diverse facets of the Eastern world, including culture, religion, and tradition. India is a repeated theme in several of William’s books. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages across the world. Dalrymple is one of the co-founders of the renowned Jaipur Literature Festival. He has been the recipient of various honours and awards, including the Mungo Park Medal from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, the Sykes Medal from The Royal Society for Asian Affairs, and the Media Citizen Puraskar from the Indian Confederation of NGOs.
