The action is fast and continuous which includes killings, cattle rustling, rapes, shoot-outs and Indian attacks. There is very limited profanity for this type of novel, but the author has managed to make it "real"
without the overuse of expletives. There is also romance, hearbreak, and tragedy. He captures the essence of the Texas Rangers in Texas' long and illustrous history.
A must reading if you are a fan of the Old West and especially the Texas frontier.
If you are a Texan, this is compulsory reading, but, even if you aren't, this book is exciting for anyone. A real page-turner. I highly recommend it.
