The Janson Command is a literary fiction novella filled with suspense and thrill by American writer Robert Ludlum, and describes how the ex-Navy protagonist, Paul Janson, goes about solving his new mission.
Summary Of The Book
This book has been published as a sequel to Robert Ludlum’s initial novel on this series called The Janson Directive, featuring Paul Janson in the central role. He is described to be an ex-Navy SEAL and an erstwhile representative of a U.S. government secret association called Consular Operations. He is shown to be preoccupied by his memories of the Vietnam War.
In this sequel, Paul Janson is shown to abandon his past life filled with murders and international conspiracy. He is occupied with a new mission and has a new partner. Joining hands with agile sharpshooter Jessica Kincaid, he assists other disillusioned secret agents in re-adapting and starting new lives. He also takes on autonomous missions, but confirms only if he thinks they will help the society in the wider picture.
In this book, Janson accepts the mission to save a doctor who has been abducted by West African rebels during an attack of an American oil service boat. Initially, it seems that the doctor's life was refrained from any harm so as to give attention to the rebels' wounded supremo, Ferdinand Poe. But when the mission ceases to function properly, Janson understands that he is now involved with a much bigger plot. The puppet dictator has unidentified helpers on the oil reserves of this scrambling country and Janson finds himself in this strange dilemma where he is unable to comprehend whether he has been putting his energy for the wrong group.
About Robert Ludlum
Robert Ludlum was a very popular American novelist and author. He has created a few of his works under various pseudonyms like Jonathan Ryder and Michael Shepherd.
Apart from this novel, Ludlum is reputed for the creation of many more novels such as The Cry Of The Halidon, The Road To Gandolfo, and The Chancellor Manuscript. Ludlum is mainly seen to follow plots based on the themes of spy fiction, mystery and action thrillers.
Plots in Ludlum's work generally comprise one heroic individual, or a small association of exerting persons, in a battle against influential opponents with selfish and self-centered interests and desires. These adversaries are seen to be strong enough to put into use political and economic influence by horrifying means. The plots in his novels typically incorporate global associations, covert military personnel and government organizations, committed to preserve their state of affairs if they are vicious, or weaken them if they are not. Ludlum's novels are occasionally intensified by conspiracy theories, be it ancient or modern.
He received his education at The Rectory School then went to Cheshire Academy and Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. Before he made his name as an author, he had served in an array of posts like a United States Marine, theatrical actor and producer. Many of Ludlum's works have been adapted into movies and miniseries.

Jason commandA good book which continues ludlum's characters, but lacks Ludlum's suspense, thrills and finish. Nice read though.

A fast paced readRobert Ludlum's 'The Janson Command' is a fast paced read. However, after having completed the book, I feel it could have been construed much better. An expectation from a Ludlum series is to be a thriller right from the start. There is an initial drag and the reader will have to take a good effort to complete the book.

The Janson CommandIt an average book if you compare with The Janson Directive. Not worth for the price. Really disappointed with this. Hope when people use the Robert Ludlum's name they strive for the standard. Nothing is worse than inaccurate information. If you're not really sure or read this book please read and write review.

Heart Pounding suspense from Paul Garrison on Bob Ludlum's Paul JansonAs usual delivery by Flipkart was good. Got the book in time before my journey. The inner tribulation of the lead "The Machine" (Janson) is so delicately explained which gives you actual insight of this fictitious character. the writing style is at its best and one continuous stretch imaginative perfection. Janson is better than from his last adventure "The Janson Directive" along with his new found partner Jessica Kincaid the deadliest sniper..Great read.. Recommend this for people who love espionage, spying and thrillers
