over 2 hours of special features in a separate dual layer DVD.

cons:

a DTS 5.1 (768 kbps) soundtrack should have been there.
apart from the songs the surround sound mixing isn't noteworthy.
only eng and arabic subtitles are there.

my rating is for the DVD not the movie.

When 4 super talented personalities work in unison- A.R.Rehman, Imtiaz Ali, Ranbir Kapoor and Mohit Chauhan, a film like Rockstar is created.
This film has something in it which you take with yourself when you leave the cinema hall, something very peculiar that haunts you for many days (or in my case- months!) You keep thinking about the movie...
An exemplary director, Imtiaz Ali has extracted the best out of Ranbir Kapoor which no other director has achieved so far.

The songs make you fall for the movie even more. One of A.R.Rehman's best work so far!

For all those who are die-hard romance and drama lovers, this movie is sheer bliss. (not to forget for all Ranbir Kapoor lovers too!)

Away...beyond all concepts of wrong-doing and right-doing, There is a field. I'll meet you there :D

Music is the soul of this movie. Subtract the music and you are left with a beautiful body sans a soul. Nargis Fakhri has a beautiful face, alright, but needs to work harder on her acting skills. Ranbir does a smooth job. His angst is well portrayed. The scene where he tears up his contract with Piyush Mishra is to watch out for. Kumud Mishra, who plays the canteenwala and subsequently becomes Ranbir's manager looks authentic in his act. Shammi Kapoor pitches in with a good cameo. One wishes he had a bigger role, that of a mentor to Ranbir.

Though Rockstar is entertaining, Imtiaz Ali's former works like Socha na Tha, Jab we met and Love Aaj Kal were emotionally richer and one could feel an instant connection with the characters. This aspect is somehow missing in Rockstar.

Overall, a well-made movie, with great music and some groovy performances.

The film has surely taken Ranbir kapoor's career to a whole new level,the film has done similar to the career of Ranbir what kaminey did to the career of Shahid kapoor.....Imtiaz ali has done a brilliant job with the story and the screenplay and as always he saves the best song of the album for the climax.The mallish scene of Piyush Mishra was undoubtedly one of the best scene of 2011........all in all one must this movie in their personal collection

Truly a wonderful movie! Thanks to Ranbir Kapoor's brilliant acting, Imtaiz's great direction and AR Rehman's best music! It remains on my mind for atleast 2 days of watching it! What more can I say about it! Buy it if you watched it at Theaters! A masterpiece by Ranbir, Imtiaz and Rehman! 5 stars from my side!
