Summary of the Book

A grateful witch decides to pay back to the creatures that have helped her throughout the past and takes her cat on a ride on the broom. They pick up new friends, adding to the weight of the poor old broom until they realize that not everyone can fit on it. And to add to their troubles, the witch falls prey to a hungry dragon and its up to her new friends to help her escape.

About the Authors

Julia Donaldson is a children’s writer, playwright and performer known for her popular rhyming stories for children.

Axel Scheffler is an illustrator who studied at the Bath Academy of Art. Born in Germany, he is currently based in London.

Together, the authors have also corresponded on The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Stick Man.
