Bouncing expertly the ball on his bat, with school shirt intact – collar up, half hanging out of his half-pants – Romi, looking no better than a street urchin, merrily marched on towards the maidan…

Unruly, restless and impulsive, all of thirteen years, Romi is the hero of his world. And sharing great affinity for adventure and the unknown are his three friends – the rascal Sukhi, the deadpan Sunny and the naive Golu. There is never a dull moment for the four, in school or in the maidan where most of their life is spent battling for their dream of lifting the Eagle- the annual Inter-school Cricket Cup.
