Iyer, higher and higher!

Well, say what you will, but we Indians have a good sensory/visual/olfactory perception for "masala" entertainers of any kind - be it food or b/t/k(ollywood) movies or books! This fiction about a wannabe entrepreneur could be classified a masala and certainly a good one at that. Rajesh Iyer sustains a consistency of character right from the start till the end of the book, although his thoughts mostly revolve around a few specific things with "well endowed" women, which I thoroughly enjoyed :P...

Overall It’s a great book, Go get it!

the Book Cover and title aptly states that this book is something to talk about sales and its humor in bringing the sales.

As the blurb clearly states about the terrific intense plot, this book is for those who can relate the job of those frustrated people in a sales room in any organization. The life of a sales person as described in many films ranging from ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ is stressful. I loved the humor in this book and a great plot. Being a bangalorean, I was more interested...

Captures Young working India's heartbeat

If you are an Young working Indian, this book is a must read. Very beautifully captures the essence of working in an Indian 'Start-up' and its Jugaad attitude. Loved the way the author goes about narrating with an in-your-face style.
Its a simple story that one can identify with, interspersed with humour (sometimes more from the male perspective).
Great read.

Good Read! Complete Entertainer

The Sales Room, a satire on the work & ethics of management in an IT "start-up" company and the life of an ambitious salesperson forced to go back into one. Before I knew it I had completed reading a book that made me laugh, disagree, grin and wince at different narrations in chapters of the book. I enjoyed Manu's honest humor in most parts that didn't gnaw at my stretched tolerance for male adolescent behavior. What kept me flipping those pages, which for better or worse slowed down in the ...

My quality time, well spent.

A good book to me is a living entity, which breathes thoughts into my head making me think. A good book is great company, and The Sales Room proved to be of some qualitative company the night I picked it up and decided to give it a go. As I read through the book, I felt the narrative was extremely Indian, and to those who don’t understand what that means, pick up the book and you will. While the author explains the elaborate nature of the Indian workplace, the idea of Jugaad, one cannot help ...

Good One!!PAGE TURNER TILL THE END...

Amazing amazing amazing…. Is all what I say simply because of the KICK that this book has given me while reading… an excellent book. The narration of the author’s personal experience was simply superb. Loved reading all the characters.. Especially the Vastu man, Oregon’s CEO, Investors and Rajamanickyam’s grunts… As soon as I started reading I eagerly went on. Some of the chapters are really funny and few of them felt like I am sucked up into an edge of the seat suspense thriller and a few c...

Could have been better plotted

The Sales Room is the story of a software saleman. It is well thought plot and highlights how a software sales usually takes place. Entertaining, but the book has unnecessary overdose of adult content, because of which it will be indecent to recommend this book or gift it.

Also story is one sided. A point of view from CEO/Investor's side would have been nice. Book assumes both CEO and investor is totally deaf and dumb while only the hero has all the wisdom. That isn't a very realistic scenar...

Enjoyed it!

Hilarious page-turner of a book! Unapologetically tacky yet funny one liners keep hitting you when you least expect it, and you often end up putting aside the book for a good laugh!
