Samsung 26eh4000 LED 26 inches HD Television

I purchased a Samsung 32inch LED television from a local dealer on 12-Nov-12. But exactly seven days later, on 19-Nov-12 the product failed. There was no video appearing, however audio was working fine. I contacted Samsung service center immediately on 19-Nov-12. They took the complaint and gave me a complaint ID. I followed it up with them until 22-Nov-12, continuously for four days after product failure. However, they kept lying, saying that they had received the complaint only today on each of those four days. On 22-Nov-12, after much argument with the service personnel, they arranged for a service adviser visit.

The service adviser confirmed that the panel had failed and needed to be replaced. After which I have been trying to contact Samsung service personnel daily for panel replacement. The product is only 14 days old now and panel is covered under warranty. However, Samsung seems to be least interested in even talking to me, let alone making a tiny effort to resolve my issue.

I have lost all faith in Samsung products, not because the product they delivered was a dud (can happen with any electronic good), but because of their attitude to not even make an attempt to help a consumer who is affected by their product.

Will never every buy a Samsung product, and would suggest everybody to exercise utmost caution while deciding to buy a Samsung product.

This TV is an LED at the price of an LCD. Perfect picture clarity thats the trademark of most Samsung LEDs is the prominent feature of this television as well.

However, a few downsides are also there. Thickness of the TV is similar to that of an LCD and most of the ports (except USB) are located at the back (not on the side) which makes it difficult to connect the cables when the TV is mounted on wall. You will have to remove the TV from the wall mount to be able to connect the cables.

Otherwise, its a nice product and worth every single rupee spent.

Please note, its not Full HD (but HD ready).

I have purchased 26” Samsung LCD TV on 13th Sep 2011 for Rs 22,700.00. On 5th Dec 2012 , I noticed a black vertical line on the left side of the screen. On the same day I called to the Samsung customer care regarding the problem. On 8th Dec 12 service engineer came and after seeing the TV, the Engineer informed that due to defective panel this black vertical line is coming in TV. He said since the 1 year warranty is over, I have to replace the panel for appx Rs 10,000.00 at my own cost. He charged me Rs 112.00 for visiting my house and for doing no service. Good customer care ??????? Hats off to Samsung, a truly Global company. I called to customer care and was told that even though I paid appx Rs 23,000.00, they will not replace the panel for free because warranty was there that the product will last for 1 year. So much for a global company like Samsung !!!!! Sell a defective product which can last 1 year and earn another Rs 10,000.00 for the same product by selling another panel. A truly global company!!!!!

Samsung explanation: We are truly a global company but product will work perfectly for 1 year and so is the warranty been given for 1 year. Now since 1 year warranty is over, I have to pay for the panel.

Conclusion of a painful customer: Purchase Samsung at your own peril. Be ready to replace the panel after 1 year by paying half of the TV price. Nobody purchase TV for just 1 year. It was not even lasted for 15 months, but while at the time of selling the TV in VIVEK store (Chennai-T Nagar INDIA) the salesman said that the TV will last for at least for 15 years. Now look at my case, Samsung is happy enough selling me defective product successfully. Be aware. Never ever purchase a Samsung product. Never !!!! never !!!!

After placing an order, it was shipped soon from flipkart side but Blue Dart transit took a week to deliver the product. VESA wall mount support is not provided in the box as described in flipkart product description page. I contacted Flipkart customer support, which was quiet easy. I was provided a Samsung customer support number. I contacted Samsung customer support and they scheduled a timing to visit my home and wall mount my TV free of cost. Samsung service in my area (Tiruppur, Tamilnadu) seems really good.

Regarding the TV features,
1. very less weight
2. Decent picture quality
3. Plays HD videos and other stuffs directly from my external 500 GB hard disk.
4. Sound volume is not adequate. Am using it in full volume all the time.
5. No extra packing other than TV carton box. Blue Dart handling seems worst. But luckily the TV is working fine.
6. Less connectivity ports/options but adequate for normal day to day use with a DTH with HDMI output, DVD player with composite output and USB device support. Connecting my creative 2.1 computer speaker to the TV's 3.5 mm audio output enhances sound quality and volume.

overall rating from me is 4 out of 5.

I bought this TV after a lot of research. Below are results.

First I am the huge fan of Sony. And I planned to buy Sony 24" Full HD TV. But negative points for this TV are

1) Viewing Angle (You cant view the TV from below line )
2) Size
3) Life Time

Positive are

1) Sony is a standard.
2) Sony Sound is awesome.
3) It is only full HD TV in 24" (Panasonic also there).
4) More USB Video files supporting

Then i looked at "Samsung 26eh4000 LED 26 inches HD"

These has the Pros :

1) Low Price
2) High protection against power fluctuations
3) Better life time
4) Good viewing Angle

Cons:

1) Bad sound.
2) Bad operation.
3) Less video file supporting (Via USB).
4) Horrible remote

Let me just elaborate the last point. This point only made me writing the review.

I wonder how they recruit the engineers. The design for the remote controller is horrible. Its very very user Unfriendly design. Buttons on the remote scattered like stars in the sky. Generally one expects buttons related to a function should be at one place but dont expect from Samsung remote. User needs to learn how to operate it. No one can operate remote without seeing it. I bet one who uses the Samsung TV, would search for a particular (already used) button soo many times.
