I put it in my macbook pro 15 inch mid 2010, and i swear on my life it runs like usain bolt. Combined it with an upgrade of 8 gb ram and now my laptop is faster than it was new. Best upgrade ever.
Go for the pro version as its more performance oriented. Technical language cut short: THE PRO IS BETTER AND WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY.
I am currently enjoying read and write speeds of about 250 mbps, which is like 7 times better than the 5400 rpm hdd.

Boost your laptop's performance
I've been longing for an upgrade to my hard drive. I did a bit of research and decided to go with Samsung 840 Pro Series hard drive. Two main reasons:
- Samsung SSDs come with 5 year warranty.
Competitors provide you 1-3 years warranty but Samsung beats them all
- Awesome performance.
I tell you, even if you add more gigs of RAM, upgrade your processor to some high end, some outstanding graphics card; you never reap the benefits without a fast hard disk.

5 years old laptop running as new one
My 5 years old Lenovo G 430 was very slow. Because of this sluggish speed I got angry one day (of course little bit effect of liquor) and threw my laptop hard in wall while it was running.
My hard disk crashed. So I bought this hard disk. Excellent boost.
My laptop boots with in 22 sec and u can use chrome within 25 sec from pressing power switch. Shut down time is only 6 sec.
My windows experience index gives me 7.8 score for hard disk performance (out of 7.9 )
I suggest to everybody to up...

The windows rating for the hard disk is shown as 8.9
My laptop is booting from shutdown to Windows in 4s
You can't improve the speed of booting , opening or switching tasks
Unless you have a fast hard disk (Due to the hard disk seek time)

Baby Devil - Insane performance
The drive will fit in your palm and weighs less than a mobile phone battery, but until you plug it in, you wont know what you're missing. For the impatient, here's the gist : Yes it outperforms EVO and definitely worth each cent of extra money spent.

So far so good....
I made a choice to go for Samsung 840 Pro.. instead of Corsair force and Plextor... and so far I am happy..
Win8 boots fast... and I still have ~ 60GB free after OS, apps and OS patches/updates installed...
Again, I bought it from WS Retail and they didn't disappointed as it got delivered very next day of order..
