Samsung DVD-C370 DVD Player

I bought this DVD player from Flipkart.com and they delivered it on time. However, when the build quality of DVD player and remote is poor and cheap. When I inserted the DVD to play, I hear humming noise from DVD player. The humming noise is so loud. Also, it is not able to play most of the the original DVDs I bought. When I complained to Flipkart, they redirected me Samsung and washed off their hands. Samsung rep called and says I need to take it to their service center for rectification. Got to find out the nearby Samsung center and get it looked at by their service engineer.

I purchased a Samsung 32inch LED television from a local dealer on 12-Nov-12. But exactly seven days later, on 19-Nov-12 the product failed. There was no video appearing, however audio was working fine. I contacted Samsung service center immediately on 19-Nov-12. They took the complaint and gave me a complaint ID. I followed it up with them until 22-Nov-12, continuously for four days after product failure. However, they kept lying, saying that they had received the complaint only today on each of those four days. On 22-Nov-12, after much argument with the service personnel, they arranged for a service adviser visit.

The service adviser confirmed that the panel had failed and needed to be replaced. After which I have been trying to contact Samsung service personnel daily for panel replacement. The product is only 14 days old now and panel is covered under warranty. However, Samsung seems to be least interested in even talking to me, let alone making a tiny effort to resolve my issue.

I have lost all faith in Samsung products, not because the product they delivered was a dud (can happen with any electronic good), but because of their attitude to not even make an attempt to help a consumer who is affected by their product.

Will never every buy a Samsung product, and would suggest everybody to exercise utmost caution while deciding to buy a Samsung product.

The item was well packed and was delivered in less than 36 hours COD.

Upon installation it worked well and so far I have no complaints about it.

However I find that I cannot play certain types of movie formats like MKV, FLV etc when the input is received through the USB port provided with the DVD player. Discs normally come in mpeg /avi formats, hence I had no problems there.

But my flat screen 32inch TV set can play the MKV, FLV etc formats inputted through its HD USB port.

So it sort of makes me wonder a bit about the utility of the DVD player..

I could not really put the DVD player through its paces and hence am not in a position to write a more detailed review.

My old DVD player was dead, hence I had to look for an alternative. My primary requirement was to have Divx playback through USB. I was very particular on the budget and didn't want to go with media players. This Samsung DVD-C370 DVD Player does what I expect. Only negative being, it doesn't play most Divx, even the supported Divx5 (720 x 480 @30fps720 x 576 @25fps: Maximum bit rate :4Mbps). I had to use freemake and convert them to play. Samsung could have designed the remote more friendly, but you would get used to it.
