I was about to buy HTC Flyer but this beauty is launched :(. Now what?
Compared both Flyer and Tab 620 and noticed following:
1)Flyer has a better display. Resolution is same but flyer's display is a bit more bright.
2)Tab 620 is thinner and lighter.
3)Both look equally beautiful but still Flyer is 1 ;)
4)Tab 620 has calling feature but Flyer doesn't have.
5)Flyer has a stylus pen but this doesnt have.
6)Flyer doesnt have expandable memory slot but this has.
7)Flyer has HDMI output but this doesnt have.
8)Flyer is single core 1.5GHz but this one is Dual core 1.2GHz
9)tab 620 has the best ever Quadrant benchmark performance( >3500).
As i want a Stylus, calling feature, HDMI output, memory slot and even better and denser display. So i'll better wait for Tab 7.7 with Super Amoled Plus (196 ppi) display or some future quadcore running tablets with resolutions around 2500x1600 ;). Here are some tips for people confused about "which display technology to go for":
1)Night time watching movies and Videos: All Amoled variants are better
2)Convenient to use in Sunlight: All Amoled variants are better
3)Use in daytime at moderate light: S-LCD is better.
4)Want true natural looking colors: S-LCD is better.
5)Want true whites: S-LCD is better.
6)Want true blacks and high contrast: All Amoled variants are better
7)Super Amoled or Super Amoled plus: Super amoled plus is better with 3 sub-pixels forming 1 pixel in contrast to 2 sub pixels forming 1 pixel in Super Amoled(Called pen tile technology)
8)Which one is more eye soothing: All Amoled variants as they dont have true whites. The whites tend to blend towards blue(cold) side. They cant deliver true whites.
9)Which display is better at low brightness: S-LCD. Amoleds are crap at low brightness. They become grainy.
10)Which display is sharper: S-LCD.
11)Which is less power consuming: S-LCD.
12)Better viewing angles: All Amoled Variants.
13)Want very bright colors: All Amoled variants.
13)Too confusing? Which is the best display that has everything mentioned above in balance: LED backlit IPS LCD display. Manufactured by LG and used in Ipod, Ipad and Iphone.
14)What i would prefer: Super Amoled plus or Super Amoled at resolution > 280 ppi. As i love to watch movies and videos at night and they are very eye soothing because of cold whites and deepest blacks. Although i dont have one right now :(.
Now its upto you to decide.
AWESOME! The earpiece on top of the phone was a much wanted feature for GSM calls. It has got USB Host (on-the-go): this feature enables you to plug in any USB device into the Tab; eg: you can plug in a pen-drive into the Tab and access its contents directly from the Tab. It has Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 3.0. The dual-core 1.2ghz processor with Mali-400 gpu coupled with 4000mAh battery is a delight for resource and processing-power hungry users. TouchWizUX on Honeycomb is just cool. Samsung has also promised an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for it. Great going Samsung!
hi guys, last week only i bought this tablet according to me this tablet is best of all other tablet.
The following are some reasons for going tab 620 then other:
1)front cam. is 2MP tat good for video call&chat
2)touch is very cool for using
3)UI is awesome even new user can easily get into it.
4)u can make calls & messeges like normal cellphone
5)GPRS is there but not in other tablets
6)7 inch only so that is very compatible
7)HD video record and LCD display these more then anything.
8)1GB RAM & 1.2Ghz speed tat make u feel like using a mini laptop
9)Hearing a music with headset is feeling like entering into the music heaven
some of the cons:(however)
1)rear camera is only 3MP that not gud for its price tag.
2)while browsing u can't direct the link from one tab to another tab(like in laptop browser 'right clik-->open in new tab' u can't do tat in tab)
A device with mobility? It must have a readable screen size so that one can read e-books, edit docs for required time without eyestrain. No doubt some large smart phones like Galaxy Note have high resolutions and higher pixel densities. But still larger size of font and ability to show full screen websites without need for scrolling are need for magnification is a desired thing. On other extreme Tablet of 10â plus size? Not for me as it loses the portability and we start to go in netbook/ mini laptop range. Thus, for me and many who think like me or have requirements like me 7â is ideal size. So I went for Galaxy Tab 620.
Points in favour are-
⢠Portability
⢠Good readability and reasonable screen size
⢠Fast 1.2 Dual Core
⢠Voice call (though may be used rarely)
⢠Android 3.2
⢠Polaris office- Good portable office suite
⢠Support for indic languages- Devnagari Fonts (Definitely plus for us). I was considering HTC flyer for double the internal memory and the scribe pen. But it does not support Devnagari fonts in its Android 2.3 format
⢠Upgradable to ICS
Cons-
⢠USB charging vial PC ports not possible. So one has to carry the mini-brick sized charger. Other charges wonât work. GT 620 needs 2000 mA charger while normal ones supply 500 to 1000mA
⢠Proprietary connector
⢠No separate HDMI port- have to buy an adapter. Rs 2000/- extra
⢠No case bundled- Rs. 2000/- (Min) extra
⢠No readerâs Hub (which is available with original Tab)
⢠Poor sound quality from speakers as well as through headphones
Chalta Hai (But better deserved)
⢠No AMOLED screen
⢠Relatively shorter battery life as compared to iPad 2
⢠Smartphone apps appear stretched. I am not sure if there is any facility to force them to run in original resolution.
⢠No full HD (Only 720p)
⢠Primary Camers- Only 3 MP
⢠Some crashes though not frequent
⢠No dedicated pen like Galaxy Note. But a capacitive stylus like the one from Griffin works nicely even on Sketchbook and AutoCad WS!
May be wiser choice than blowing money on GT 680!
So for I used Symbian based smartphone and used mainly to read news and watching movies during my travel time (Every day I am spending ~2 Hours travelling). I searched for 7" inch screen with phone feature. I looked for cheaper one first (Beetal & Viewsonic) and due to screen display qulaity I dropped both.
Then I looked HTC flyer & Huwei Media Pad but both don't have phone feature). I saw samsung P1000 with my requirement but it is not available now.......Then 2 weeks before I saw this Flipkart & without seeing physically I ordered the same in last wee. Now it is in my hand & started use it. Hence Antroid software & samsung hardware is new to me I have some initial difficulties (so for I used symbian software & Nokia hardwares, but I hope it will be OK after using some times...
I installed Newshunt application but it is not working in my Tab (I checked the same in Samsung p1000 its working fine.
My Opinion: Go for this TAB... its worth to buy among all availble tabs at this moment.
great tab for the price... has sim support... can play almost any video format very good for ebook reading and watching movie.....
