Google has made a few tweaks to the stock UI appearance. The notification bar along the top of the screen and the background on the menu have gone a shade darker. Google claims this to be a power saving tactic and will make a marked improvement in battery efficiency. Google Nexus S sports a 5 MP autofocus camera supported by an LED Flash. Additionally, the Nexus S has a front facing secondary VGA camera.

This is the best android phone you can buy in India right now. I agree that Samsung didn't launch the Super AMOLED version of the phone in India but it still is the better phone to buy over Galaxy S LCD version. The reason being Nexus S runs on stock android. Its the pure android experience you can get. The Galaxy S runs LG's custom UI on top of the stock android. Having a phone with stock android plays a role when Google rolls out updates to android. I have been using a Nexus One since over a year now and i have got 4 OS upgrades ever since and as soon as Google made them available. Having a custom UI on top of the stock android delays the process. By the time Samsung decides to release a particular version of android, Google would be releasing the next. That's the exact reason Nexus One and Nexus S are on android 2.3.4 while Galaxy S is still struggling (or may be just got) the 2.3 update.
When you are buying a phone over 20k, i think timely OS updates is a factor one has to consider.
Honestly all the whiners here would probably never get the phone even if it came loaded with all they ever wanted so someone seriously considering the phone here should not even bother with those aspects. I got the phone, used it for two months now, and I love it. My previous was a galaxy i7500 so I have been an android user for a while... I can guaranty you that *not* getting a timely update, or being left on the balance of ever getting can update can be a real b***h. Honestly, from what I have seen from the nexus one, the first rule is, get a google phone, no matter what, you get updated, ALWAYS. Next, the issues of SD card is a non issue for me, like most. TBH I am too cheap to buy even an 8 GB card, this phone comes with 16GB, when you pitt it against the competition, thats more than you every get on them, even with the free SD cards they bundle, and I have not used more than 2GB as of now... Then the AMOLED screen, honestly? Do you ever watch a movie on your phone? If you do, is 4inches enough? Get the streak man... Then the price... What are people complaining about? I don't see why the price is not justified, granted 2 grand knocked off would not be bad, but seriously, its not a deal breaker.. There is no phone at that price range that has more to offer than this device... Blindly buy this phone, no buyers remorse guaranteed... You will never have the time to actually stop overcoming the awesomeness of this phone....
@Flipkart: You're doing a great job! and as per your service goes.. its just unbeatable. I ordered my nexy ( am so much in love with this phone I've nick-named it as nexy!!) on saturday evening and monday evening I have it. Pure AWESOMENESS!!
At 20k this is the best phone money can buy. Phone's display is too good, texts look clear and very crisp. After using for an hour it got heated up and then i found out its the NFC (near field communication) causing the problem. So i switched off NFC and everything was back to normal. Supplied headphones are also usable and i found the quality to be above average. Image quality is good too. Google also launched OTA for android 2.3.4 - this update fixes some security issue and will provide support for video calls on gtalk. So thats all for now and am sure that i am gonna have some good time with nexy;)
P.S. @LETSBUY: You lost me today. I am done with you guys and your pathetic services.
It is a great phone had i got it for 25K
1)Super Clear LCD is equally good except for brand name and brings down the price for Indian consumer
2)Look and specially the curved screen make it look better
3)Display is far better than any many xperias and optimuses and N7/8s
4)Google NFC comes with it but i dont find its manu uses in India
With every one getting an iphone this new hardware can bring jealousy in your gadget loving friends
There is a new Nexus S 4G but in India it is of no use and there is time before it launches in India
I got the Nexus S from the UK Two months ago. This phone is a head on match with an iPhone. It worked flawlessly until I upgraded to the required update, i.e. the 2.3.2 from the pre-installed 2.3.1 . The OS version - 2.3.2, is the worst update that google has produced. This is because my phone would go off by itself and to restart it the battery had to be removed and re-inserted. Then came the bad morning when I woke up and checked my phone, it was off. I did the same battery thing again and then it would not switch on completely, which means it would only come on to the point where the google logo appears on booting and then freeze on the google logo point. Then I checked a few blogs where a google person said that it was mistake on their part and the On the Air (OTA) update of the OS 2.3.3 version is due soon. The phone cannot even be restored from the boot menu, after holding the volume up key and the power button simultaneously. It is not samsungs fault at all, but solely google's.
The name says it all. This was the only Nexus to be officially launched in India. It stood well by its name. It received update...
