Samsung NP300E5Z-A0MIN Laptop 2 Gen Ci3/4GB/750GB

This my first white goods purchase from any online portal, also Kudos to Flipkart for compelling me to write a review first time. Firstly, Hi5 to FK team for their delivery... they posted 7 business days as standard TAT, I booked it on 19th April and received it on 23rd April.

Coming to specifications, this is the best price anywhere for the given specs. Believe me, I did a research/comparison for over a month before purchase. This is one hell of an awesome computer, start up takes less than 30 seconds, awesome sound and picture quality, amazingly fast (4GB is phenomenal), graphics card is decent (POP,CS,Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty work seamlessly). Battery back up is min. 3.5hrs with a movie/music playing, without any major apps running back up is 5hrs (that too at a max chargeable limit of 80% for first 1000 recharges). Simply amazing what SAMSUNG has done...

Certainly recommend as a buy for anyone... Surprise is that it comes with a SAMSUNG carry case which is not mentioned...

What my dad paid for its exactly what we got. Value for money deal. There are slight drawbacks like the touchpad doesn't have that feel that hp provides etc. But at 28220, its worth it. I had some problems installing windows 7 directly over Dos. But can be solved once the harddrives are converted to NTFS (via fdisk or installing xp first and then 7). And its a 64 bit machine. Installing 32 bit might leave you with 2.68 gb of usable ram.

I didnt buy this from flipkart,but being a huge flipkart fan,i m here for the review,i bought this piece for basic student purposes ,for my MBA.

core i3-2350m,4gb in one slot+intel hd 3000 graphics,more than sufficient for pdfs,office work,and browsing,watching videos online seamlessly..
pros-
1>build quality,samsung scores high here! chiclet layout keyboard is too good!fit n finish of the product is top notch... full marks for the touchpad too!
2>have installed xp,and the monitor is very crisp with the videos.
3>battery back up--its a 4400 mah battery and i havent rigorously tested it.. but it gives 4 hrs with battery cycle extension option in BIOS.(i.e. charges only upto 80%) other wise its a whopping 5hrs plus,at this price range,makes it quite a steal.
cons-
1>there r no led s for numlock/capslock,so this is a user to user thing.i dont find it as a hinderance.
2>wifi + bluetooth button & volume controller,there is no dedicated button for these things,i think its a cost cutting measure,but this also depends on the OS/UI u use,in Mint/ Win7 the controls for these are easier as compared to XP.
3>online drivers of only Xp and Win7,no vista... download drivers on cd n keep em' ready...not sure if vista will run comfortably

Verdict:
Overall i m quite satisfied with this piece,although i m not into gaming,but will try to install NFS,GTA,CS(older versions)
if necessary might buy the corsair 4gb extra ram from flipkart ;) If u r looking a basic laptop with the BANG for the buck,this is it!

Hi, firstly I would like to thank flipkart for giving this best n cheap offer with this configuration.

I have resolved the issues while installing Win 7 on this laptop as it comes with DOS. Please don’t try directly to install Win 7 as it won’t take, 1st you need to install XP then on that you need to run Win 7.

Also you cannot directly insert Win 7 DVD and run as it will stop in between of the process. The only way to install is to make Win Bootable USB Drive or use USD DVD RAM/ROM else it won’t work. Also after installation don’t panic as some of the function keys might not work, no worries download the latest Drives as well as Software from Samsung website, please don’t forget to download software’s and drivers both.

I strongly recommend this product if you are looking a laptop around 30K with best features and configuration. I have researched for a month before I buy and found this was the cheapest DEAL to crack.

I bought this laptop for my parents and am satisfied with the buying experience. Flipkart delivered it on time and 10-20% cheaper than other retail stores.

Built : 8/10; All Ports could be a little more accessible.
Keyboard: 7/10; Keys are soft but small; includes a numpad too.
Sound : 8/10
Screen : 8/10

Had to disable AHCI, enable UEFI boot and reformat the HDD with NTFS to load Window 7 on it. Most Windows inbox drivers were not installed upon installation and had to manually install most drivers even LAN/Wifi. Samsung bundled a Easy Software Manager which made life easy but I think they have changed the device IDs for the drivers such that the inbox drivers are not getting recognized.

There is an issue with the Samsung Easy Settings tool shipped by Samsung. Samsung Easy Settings tool is required to enabled Fn Key shortcuts. It freezes the UEFI enabled system completely on launch.
