Sawyer Creek

The chill of the night makes dreams warm and endearing, and Shelby Shier certainly has found himself engulfed in one such dream that tells tales of his extraordinary abilities. Shelby is the envy of every squirrel in the town of Little Oak, which also includes his disapproving father and his lone brother Tuttle, whom Shelby abhors. Suddenly, Shelby grimaces from the sharp pain of the bedroom floor; how he arrived there, Shelby can't be certain, but he knows that if he makes his aches known his brother, Tuttle will certainly add to them. The nest shakes violently, disheveling all of Shelby's material belongings along with his thoughts, causing Tuttle and their parents to awaken alarmed. Shelby Shier comes from a family of home builders, which not only builds homes, but also wealth and family prestige; he never dreamt that it would be the same occupation done by others that would cause the town's and ultimately his family's demise.
