Flirt with the paper!

First things first, buy this only if you love fountain pens and you don't mind spending for something that you love.

I got this pen as a gift from a couple of my ex-colleagues as a farewell gift, delivered to my home in no time, and I must say they do know what I love.

The pen is great, slightly over-sized than other fountain pens that we commonly use but its middle weight, black and steel body makes it look good in your hands. The pen's cap is covered with rubber, and has a broad clip.

Now you will definitely not want to place the pen in your shirt's pocket as adjusting the pen there and taking it out frequently will take some time due to tightly placed clip, and you may not want that as it will definitely reduce the flair that you may be trying to flaunt using the pen. And also, I would not recommend pulling the pen's clip just so that it may fit in your pocket.

The pen delivered to me was definitely ergonomically designed for right-handed people. The conical cross sectioned body near the nib provides an excellent hold and alignment for the nib on paper. It may NOT be extremely convenient for left handed people as they may struggle a bit adjusting the pen frequently between their fingers and thumbs if they have to have a proper nib alignment on the paper.

Further, if you are planning on taking class notes where you have to write quickly, or similar purposes where a lot a fast paced writing is needed, I would not recommend this pen. Like other cartridge based pens (including Parker and Pierre Cardin) that I have used over time, the flow of the ink from the cartridge to the nib is controlled and will never be overdone, leading to missing parts in alphabets that you write. For purposes or writing fast I always have a Hero or a Wing Sung with me, for that matter Baoer also works nice. Schneider is just for some small notes or autographs :) and leisurely slow poetry that is like a motionless growing romance.

The cartridges of my Pierre Cardin work just fine with this.

The balance, ergonomics, colour, smoothness in writing are far better than other pens in the same price range.

Finally, I give it a 5 on 5 for all that I love in a fountain pen and all I wanted to do when I got this is to flirt with a plain white paper using this pen.
The first line I wrote... "If music be the food of love, play on" :)

Well, I bought this pen keeping the positive reviews in mind but...

I got this pen the day after I placed the order. That was fast, Flipkart!

The pen, as rightly described by the reviews, is a marvel. Well, I must say that it was smoother than the Parker Vector Matte Black that I owned before I could get my hands on this pen. Plus, this pen also won the ISPA Innovation Award 2009.

But I'd like to also bring to attention that the pen has this really irritating problem of skipping ink flow. And it becomes way too hard to bear when I use this pen for number crunching exercises on paper. I mean, I am ALWAYS pressing the nib down too hard to get the ink to flow through the nib and be able to write.

Just this one problem caused me to crazily research one full month about how to fix it. And till today, the ink flow still skips. Probably just me, but yes, the experience was not something I could cherish.

Ink breakage !!! New pen with blue residue ink on Nib !!!

I will come right to the point.
From day one this pen wrote with ink breakage. The | of Hello (I pull the line from top to bottom) always was a fade out scratch.
I noticed that there was some residue of blue ink on the nib !!! Is it normal? Like Flipkart guys test the pen before shipping it?

I decided to clean the Pen. And somehow it worked for me.
I removed the nib and the feed mechanism and soaked them in warm water. Then i inserted a thin (but good quality) page tip from the breather hole in nib and pulled it out along the whole length. Then put the whole pen together again.
The Pen is writing fine now.

But two star less because it should have worked straight out of the box.

+ve:
Writes very very smooth.
Very good grip.

-ve:
The cap !! I can't put it in my pocket without that monster clip taking a bit of fabric with it.

A nice pen for the lovers of fountain pens.

First let me tell you...before buying any classy fountain pen...ensure you are passionate about writing with one. Schneider is a renowned name in the world of fountain pens and Schneider was up to their mark in designing this one too. A bit heavy in the top. The cap is a bit big one. But once you start writing after removing the cap....the ergonomics will blow you away. wonderful grip. Medium nib. Designed for pleasure. You are provided with a cartridge and a chamber if you wish to use any other ink in it. There is also a transparent barrel. You can fill your ink in there too. A wonderful pen to write with. But one warning is this...not a very good one to carry in your shirt pocket...due to it's heavy cap.
Lastly good service from Flipkart in delivering the product on time in very good condition. kudos to you.

Simply Brilliant!

Flipkart's delivery system is an urban legend now...
Superb as always!

Coming to the product - this is an exceptional writing instrument suited for people with lots of writing work.

The finish is fairly ordinary and it won't be surprising if someone mistakes this pen for a Rs. 100/- roller ball pen.

In terms of ergonomics, though, there is no pen better. Right from the rubberised grip to the grooves and moulds suited to a right-hander (word of caution if you are a lefty, the grooves are still comfortable but better suited to righty!) this instrument is a total work-horse!

The cap has a small metallic loop which looks peculiar and has a little functional use.

Overall, a sheer writing pleasure with a very comfortable grip. The build quality / packaging deserved to be better for such a writing instrument.
