    It begins with the rats...

The government regulator finds rats two 'numbers', no less living comfortably off the canteen at the privately owned Sundarambal Institute of Management, Coimbatore, forcing its crossword-obsessed director to create a committee led by the rather undistinguished Professor Sambandham to ‘address the lacuna’. Against an imminent visit by the authorities, a cat-and-rat game snowballs into a power tussle involving the faculty, bureaucrats, the Prime Minister’s personal yoga guru and the great Dr Rakshasan, an MP with a radarroofed and gold-plated Maybach, who also owns the institute. In this hilarious satire on the state of affairs in Indian management schools, R. Chandrasekar bestselling author of The Goat, the Sofa and Mr Swami takes a tongue-in-cheek look at business schools, where students are lured with the promise of six-figure salaries and free laptops, while poking fun at government interference and the political mismanagement of the education system. Dodgy degrees, honorary doctorates to boost egos and lazy professors with dubious qualifications The School of Core Incompetence has them all.

    hilarious

a satisfying, hilarious potential bestseller. A sure page turner that will keep you chuckling through the pages. A great follow up to The Goat, sofa and Mr Swami. The author sure has the skills to churn out witty and compelling novels.

    Uproariously funny

A must read for anyone who has read Tom Sharpe - and for those who haven't a perfect sub. A brilliantly satirical piece on the sham/scam schools of management sprouting like weeds around the country.

The story revolves around a school built to feed the ego (and the coffers) of the "founder" Rakshasan, the Sundarambal management school. It is anything but a place of learning at least in the regular meaning of the word. Beyond that the reader is treated to the sheer nuttiness of the education...

    Outrageously Funny

How does R. Chandrashekhar do it? He takes these perfectly "normal" situations - stuff we all deal with in our daily experiance - and he exposes them for the rib cracking absurdities they are. But we know that these are real people here doing things we have known them to do. He captures characters brilliantly, and then, when he makes us laugh at them, he does it losing none of his own warm humanity. His talent is just emmence.

History will proabably record that he pioneered a whole new genr...

    India's PG Wodehouse

It is funny (as in peculiar) that you don't get too many funny books! Sekar is one of those rare authors who writes genuinely humorous stuff.

Some of the snippets on the cover give you a clue of what is to come at a college that advertises itself as having 'All Toppers'. Meet Dr Rakshasan, the megalomaniac proprietor of Sundarambal management institute, Prof Sambandham the survivor, AICTE officials who have the institute in a spin because of rats 'two numbers' found in the canteen and Poo...

    The School of Core Incompetence

Hilarious, Utterly Funny and Absolute Rocker of a book!!! The story of Sundarambal Institute of Management, Dr. Rakshasan (or rather Dr.Dr.Rakshasan), Poojya Guruji, Thilaka, Sambandam and of course, the protagonists, the rats is definite to tickle more than a bone. The narration, language without any restrictions and the utterly unpredictable climax is an absolute winner.
