Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Desktop Internal Hard Drive (ST1000DM003)

Since Seagate introduced their 7200.11-12 lineup, their hard disk are failing massively. just search Seagate drives failing in google & u'll surprise to see that they have been worst making Hds
I have also been a victim of a seagate failed drive
It just died in 3 months & i lost all my data and..
1 year warranty for a Hard Drive?? You must be kidding
Go for Western Digital. it will give you atleast 3 years warranty!!!

I brought this drive in March and now after 5 months I have to suffer a hard disk failure, I mean it literally failed in 5 months, where as my 80GB Hitachi which is 5 and a half years old is still going strong, what's wrong with seagate, I agree with Atul, as this is happening world wide so to those who want to buy this hard disk I would like to say " Buy At Your Own Risk ", if you are prepared for wasting your time, data and energy when it goes off, then it's your wish, what can I do, I brought it without doing proper research so now my ignorance is taking it's toll, and nothing can I do.
If I had to recommend I will not recommend this I will strongly recommend for Hitachi as I had very good experience with it heard a lot about WD so it may be a good choice, but in the end it's your choice, so...

Who said this HARD DISK is creating lot of problems! I am using this from a couple of months! Mindblowing performance. We must take care it from avoiding disk errors by checking regularly for any errors! We must thoroughly scan it for any viruses! Proper power supply, Correct Disk Partition must be done! So the performance and durability also depends on the maintenance by the user!!Use it WISE,Use it properly because SEAGATE does not like its precious customers loose their valuable data!! This HARD DISK is a HOT CHICK!! EXCELLENT,FANTASTIC,MINDBLOWING,AMAZING!!! Go for it!!

Performance wise, I have no complain, this disc really works good, excellent speed and performance however I have been facing many issue with Seagate products with reliability issue.

No Bad Sectors but discs are losing data and failures are also becoming common issue with them.

Internet is full of bad comments with too many disc failure and I would also add to it.. Indeed they go on to replace it under warranty to losing all those pictures and data is just not acceptable !!

Beware of Seagate

i had used this drive but this time i had a bad experience. The drive has been crashed in few months and there is no warranty for this. I am not sure is it the fresh one or its a refurbished one. I lost huge amount of important data stored in the drive which is very important. I think its better to purchase these drives from an authorize dealer as it not about money it about the important date which we are storing in the drive. i don,t recommend this purchase from my past experience.
