It is a good product and it supports encryption.But if you just need to store movies or play games it is okay.But it doesn't have
good looks.If you want to buy a external hard disk with good visuals,I suggest you to buy WD Essential USB Passport Edition 2.5 Inch 500 GB. But it does not support encryption like seagate 500gb.Well if you want to store photos and documents buy this or if you want to store just movies,games buy western digital.

I had to buy a hard disk to store my data as my laptop was frequently giving trouble and had to reinstall OS.. And recently had lost almost 30GB data...

So I surveyed some of the hard disks which is available.. And I found this reasonable coz, the same model if buy offline in shops, with USB 2.0 itself is 4800rs.. As it is providing feature like USB 3.0 for 4650rs when compared to the former is cheap..

But my laptop doesn't support USB 3.0.. So I couldn't experience the transfer rate fas...

I have been using this device for 4 months now and i am fully satisfied with it. Biggest advantage is the usb 3.0 connectivity. If you hav a laptop or computer that supports usb 3.0 you will be getting triple the transfer speeds. i know they say 10 times faster but practically its not possible. And if you dont have an usb 3.0 supported computer you can buy an usb 3.0 adapter which goes into ur pci express slot. Received this hard disk in excellent packaging (Thanks Flipkart!!). This is a good product if you are looking for backing up data reliably. USB 3.0 is just an advantage to buy even if your current computer supports only USB 2.0. In future if you upgrade to a machine with USB 3.0 controllers, you would have very high transfer speeds.

I bought this 2 weeks back. its working perfect and data transfer speed is also good. Since my laptop supports only USB2.0, so the speed is only upto that. But for USB3.0 supporting devices, data transfer is fast.

This drive is a killer stuff, lots of space, very handy, with USB 3.0 which will give you lightning fast data transfer compared to USB 2.0, but don't worry if you don't have USB 3.0 yet, it is backward compatible to USB 2.0. This is a great product but would like you to remove the plastic cover and use a leather pouch as it is getting hot quickly inside the plastic cover. Hope you people will enjoy using it as I am enjoying it.
