Seagate Momentus 500 GB Laptop Internal Hard Drive (ST9500325AS)

The thin packet arrived today and I installed in my old compaq laptop in the afternoon. The laptop need to be booted on a CD or USB (I used USB) and then partitioned and reinstalled the OS.

The hard disk was already formatted at the factory and the whole replacement took more than 10 mins (I am not complaining; I am plain slow). I was bit worried that the BIOS may grumble with 500GB hard disk but it went like a charm.

Purchased this to replace a WDC 160GB HDD in a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. I am by no means heavy user, as the laptop is for Internet surfing, photo-viewing and editing, so the raw speed was hardly a concern to me. After the upgrade, again, i didn't notice much difference in the way of disk speed. However, we do notice that the the laptop is now noticeably quieter. SO, along with four times the disk space, the extra quietness is
definitely a bonus.
I ordered on 9th March and got the product on 11th March.
Flipkart delivered in 3 days flat! Amazing Service and much before the estimated date of 16th March.

Straight to the point, i bought this drive 10-11 months back or you can say a year back from flipkart , i need not to tell you about flipkart's service, the world knows about it. Got this drive in just 2 days. Coming to the product, it worked fine for me i guss for 4 months then it suddenly broke down, seriously it went dead just like that. It was in warranty so i asked for a replacement and what to say about seagate's service it took them 45 days to return me my new drive, wasting my time daily for calling them again and again. The new drive seemed to work fine till today. My system detected a lot of bad sectors in the drive making it a lot slow and crash prone so i need to get it replaced again. The drive works fine, fast , silent but if it needs to be replaced every 5 months then whats the point of buying it.

in my opinion please don't go for this drive rather buy WD, mine worked for 4 yrs and still no issue.

My Vaio E series laptop was too slow from the beginning itself. I had no idea why. I uninstalled all SONY default softwares but was of no use. Then, after one and half years, system became too slow and one fine day, it showed hard drive error. I was not in my guarantee period and so i showed a local vendor who suggested that i should replace my laptop's hard drive which was WD 500GB.

I went through the reviews in Flipkart and found seagate was having better reviews. I choose Seagate 500GB and now my laptop runs faster than ever. Throw away WD and go for Seagate.

I got this hard drive few days back,very light not more than 200gms and i upgraded myself into my laptop.As soon as i installed the hard drive i installed win7.Up to now i faced no issues with this product.Working perfectly fine, I have checked the hard drive rotation speed and its load temperature using "hard disk sentinel " software.I recommend this to every one .Better use cooling pad for laptops to avoid hard drive crash due to excess heat from the system, because im one of the victim for hard drive crash. Thanks.
