the second world warone of the best books ever to have been written about the greatest man made catastrophe. it gives the entire picture of this and though it contains more than 780 pages, it is not boring to read. the six volume work by sir winston churchill is considered to be the greatest by critics but not for laypersons

A genuine masterpiece..Wow.. what a mammoth undertaking.. the first aspect which strikes you about this book is the sheer size of it. it's an unenviable task to extensively research and restrict an important event like the second world war to 800 pages. the book is rich in details about the start of war, the turning of tide, the egoistic clash among the generals and leaders, the debacles and bad decisions from either side, the inhuman atrocities suffered by civilians across the world.. before this book, i was never aware of the defeat of Russia to Finland at the beginning of the war or the Battles which were fought … (Expand)
