Book: Secondary School Drop Outs - Secondary education is more valuable and of immense importance in a country with a large numbers of villages and rural population because of its terminal and transitional nature. It is secondary education which is being considered as the minimum level of attainment for the survival of the people. It exposes students to the contribution in the field of science, social sciences and humanities, to development of nation and provides them an opportunity to understand the consitutional duites and responsibilities.
Problems of drop-outs, at secondary school stage, ans ini Idnia, are more complex. They arise out of the drop-out's total interaction with the school and home environment, which has various aspects, namely, educational, social, cultural,economic, religious and son on.
About Author :
Dr. Mohammad Abid Siddiqui was born in 1968 and hails from village Tajpur, District Bijnor (U.P.). He received his High School and Intermediate certificates from U.P. Board and obtained B.Sc. (Bio) and M.Sc. (Botany) degrees from Rohilkhand University, Bareily before joining A.M.U. for B.Ed. and M.Ed. in 1989. He took his M.Phil. B.Ed. and M.Ed. in 1989. He took his M. Phil. (1995) and Ph.D. (2002) in Education also from A.M.U., Aligarh. He was awarded departmental merit research fellowhip during M.Phil. and also qualified JRF-NET examination conducted by UNiversity Grant Commission in June, 1996.
He has contributed many research papers to reputed journals like 'University News' (New Delhi), Indian Education Review (Banglore), Journal of Community Guidance and Research (Chennai) and to various Seminars and Conferences.
