The Secret Of Leadership: Stories To Awaken, Inspire And Unleash The Leader Within is a self-help guide that contains stories from the everyday life of common people. These stories portray the fact that any person has the potential to become a great leader.

    Summary Of The Book

The Secret Of Leadership: Stories To Awaken, Inspire And Unleash The Leader Within, published in 2013, brings together simple and powerful examples that show readers how they too can become good leaders. The author says that every single person is the leader of their own life.

This book is filled with parables that illustrate important leadership lessons. Iyer says that people can learn something valuable from an item as simple as a tea bag. Just like any tea bag, a leader’s true value and strength is understood only when he or she is dipped in hot water. The Secret Of Leadership: Stories To Awaken, Inspire, And Unleash The Leader Within also speaks about the author’s driver and Abraham Lincoln. An interesting example in this self-help guide is the parallel drawn between footballers and people working in the corporate world. It has been proven on the football field that players who use both their feet achieve much more than those who use only one. Similarly, in the corporate environment, a person is more likely to succeed if he has two skill sets instead of one, just like the footballers who use both feet.

The book then shifts its focus to the animal world, and tells the tale of a bunch of frogs who decide to climb up a television tower. Through this example, the author sheds light on the importance of self-belief and learning how not to let cynics affect one’s confidence. Readers will also get to learn about a mother giraffe who kicks her newborn baby. Though it may sound shocking, this technique helps the young animal learn how to stand quickly, and understand that the world is a tough place.

The Secret Of Leadership: Stories To Awaken, Inspire And Unleash The Leader Within is a guide that aims to teach readers about resilience, discipline, passion, and commitment. The author emphasises on the need to work hard and move forward, even on days when one does not feel like it. With a foreword written by Rahul Dravid, this book can release the leader that lies within each individual.

A Bible for Leaders at all levels

Finished Reading "The Secret of Leadership" by Prakash Iyer, the master of story telling....

Hard for me to judge which is the best of both his creations this one or "The Habit of Winning". Any ways... I love both of them.

Now about The Secret of Leadership. I sometimes wonder where Prakash Iyer gets his never ending line of stories from. The secret is that he has been watching life so closely. His Driver, a tea bag, a Lift Man or a Giraffe, or a cricketer, boiling water become a source for...

    Not so goooooooooooooood

Read the book but lost interest in between ....
It is not as good as Secret of Winning by same author .
The anecdotes lacks depth and at times relevance and does not interest as much as it did in "Secret of Winning ".

Overall - avoidable , can buy when available at 50% off.
