About Author:
Human rights campaigner, community activist and author Zerbanoo Gifford was born in India on 11 May 1950 and raised in London. Married to Richard, an international human rights lawyer, Zerbanoo has two sons - Mark and Alex. This multi-faceted woman made history by being elected as the first non-white woman Liberal councillor in 1982, and is acknowledged as a pioneer for Asian women in public life. She has stood three times for Parliament and is noted for her political savvy.
