Securitisation Of Financial Assets : Status, Problems And Prospects @

Securitisation is an off-balance sheet financing technique which has developed in USA in midnineteen seventies. This concept has been introduced into the financial system in India after 1990. The primary objective of securitisation is to mobilise resources at a comparatively lower cost through a wider investor base by removing loan asset from the balance sheet of a lender. It involves the packaging of designated pools of loans and receivable and sale of these packages to various investors in the form of securities which are collateralized by the underlying assets and their associated income stream. It is the proces through which illiquid assets are transforemd into more liquid form and distributed to a wide range of investors through the medium of capital market.

Dr. P.K. Malik is Gold Medalist in Post-Graduate degree in Commerce from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra (1984). He completed his Ph.d. on 'Management Information Systems' in 1995 from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He carried out his Post-Doctoral fellowship for 3 years under Research-Award Scheme of U.G.C. in Ninth Five Year Plan. Presently he is working on a Major Research Project of U.G.C. New Delhi on "Quality Circles in Educational Institutions of Higher learning". He has the teaching experience of 23 years and research experience of 17 years. Two research scholars have completed their Ph.Ds. under his guidance. About 25 M.Phil Dissertations and more than 75 Post-Graduate Research Projects have been completed under his supervision. He has authored 4 books. He has to his credit the experience of participating in more than 25 seminars, workshops and conferences in various capacities at national level. He has also delivered number of lectures in various institutes on nationla repute.
