Seething Sorcerer

Her husband was mysteriously killed while in the military. As an empath and a healer, Liana almost died trying to save him. In the end, she failed. Then soldiers in Korea began to be attacked, presumably by their own brothers in arms. The problem was that this new weapon put these soldiers into comas instead of killing them. It was like magic. Even though she was spiritually and emotionally devastated, she agreed to come back and investigate. Well, it helped that the man they sent to ask her was First Sergeant Clark. He didn't have a problem believing in magic, but could he stand by and watch her get injured? He was used to protecting people.
