Shri Sai Satcharita is the Bible of Sai Devotees in Every sense of the word. It is a verse composition, originally in Marathi, styled on the renowned Eknathi Bhagvat. The book runs into 53 chapters and contains 9308 verses. Every chapter has a judicious mixture of philosophy, stories and anecdotes and Sai Baba's teachings. The book is essentially a Pothi or Gatha. Its idea was conceived during Baba's lifetime and it was with the blessings and express permission of Sai baba that the work was begum by the author who was a frequent visitor to Shirdi. The Book was first published in 1929. The book has been rendered into English, Chapter by Chapter, Verse and line by line and the rendering is by any reckoning a magnificent achievement.
Wonderful GiftIndira Kher has successfully translated this huge Granth of Satcharita with great detail and the best choice of words. She did an excellent job to attract the focus and attention of the reader. The book is very enlightening as offers a lot of insight and spiritual thinking. It will take a long time to read all the pages and assimilate all the knowledge. So, for someone who wants a crash course, this is not the book to go for. But for someone like me who wants to know and understand the inner meaning and take it slow, read word by word and digest the meaning, this book is a great find. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to enlighten themselves and understand the real knowledge and divine spirit. Thanks for such a great gift!
