From Smart to Wise (English, Paperback, Kaipa Prasad)
From Smart to Wise: Acting and Leading with Wisdom, by Prasad Kaipa and Navi Radjou, offers a fresh and timely approach to foster wise, resilient, and flexible leadership in a world of growing complexity.
Summary of the Book
Leaders usually stick to the time-tested formulae of either functional leadership that concentrates on operational excellence or smart leadership that highlights the growth of an organisation. When a leader's focus is too functional, the organization becomes highly introverted and can focus more than necessary on the bottom line profitability while missing out on top line growth opportunities. But when a leader concentrates too much on smart leadership, the organization may experience quick growth but lose out on its productivity sooner or later. This book will help leaders strike a balance between the two. Based on inspiring real-life stories of famous leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet, the authors identify six essential characteristics of wise leaders and discuss a practical framework for wise leadership that is both functional as well as smart.
