There are many, many bodies and an ancient crime more terrible than murder. He is out of his jurisdiction, out of his depth, out of bacon sandwiches, occasionally snookered and out of his mind, but never out of guile. Not one of Pratchett's best
The quality of writing is definitely deteriorating. This is definitely not one of his best and is actually quite at the bottom of his list. The moral dilemmas of Vimes seem recycled from the previous books and it takes way too many pages to actually get into the story. I missed the crispness of earlier books but if you are a hardcore Pratchett fan then you will definitely read whatever he writes!
Terry Pratchett just never let's u down. Witty, gripping and oh so entertaining... the world of discworld should never end... Dread the day the last novel is published
