Description

Uneven in places but still super entertaining
The author William Boyd has cleverly set the book in 1969 and it makes it easier to swallow Bond’s rampant sexism when you know the book is set in the past.
Another aspect that works really well is the setting of West Africa. Apparently Boyd has roots in Africa, and his knowledge of the place and some of the issues make the book read pretty authentic (for a Bond novel). James - No Bond
In order to break from the past, as is the authors wont, he just breaks from what Bond stands for and what he represents. There seems to be 'No-Bond' between the reader and the novel; its soulless, and misses the bull's eye not by a margin but he misses the cardboard circle cutout on which this bull eye is made. Overall, waste of time, money, energy and effort. The only thing I like about the book is its cover, and that's saying a lot than needed. Avoid.

A good read, but not mindblowing..!!
I would say what I felt about this product..It is not a treat for bond maniacs (I am one), but definitely you can grab a copy and have a good read.
