Must read for NASA fans Review by Dr. Charles J. ThomasSome Trust in Chariots is an insiders, detailed accounting of the worst space-related accident in U.S. history. Everyone, old enough to remember, seems to know exactly where they were that fateful day in January 1986 when they heard the space shuttle Challenger had exlpoded. Gene Thomas, NASA's Launch Director, was at the helm of the decision-making. He gave the final "go for launch". Unbeknownst to him, engineers had argued over the weather-related conditions for flight that day. After his "absolution" from any blame by President Reagan's Commission, he began to take notes for posterity and history. This book reveals not only those notations, but also affirms the faith of many of those involved and how that faith sustained them through difficult days. Ultimately, it is the most accurate description of the events preceding and following the Challenger Accident. Worth the read!
