The SECOND title in this number one, bestselling spin-off series from Percy Jackson creator, Rick Riordan.
This crazy messed up world of gods and monsters is Percy Jackson's reality, which pretty much sucks for him.
Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, God of the Sea, has woken from a very deep sleep and come face to face with two snake-haired ladies who refuse to die.
But they're the least of his problems. Because Percy finds himself at a camp for half-bloods, which doesn't ring any bells for him. There's just one name he remembers from his past.Annabeth.
Only one thing is certain - Percy's questing days aren't over. He and fellow demigods Frank and Hazel must face the most important quest of all: the Prophecy of Seven. If they fail, it's not just their camp at risk. Percy's old life, the gods, and the entire world might be destroyed . . .

Rick Riordan is a teacher and a writer, and has won many awards for his mystery novels for adults. He says that the idea for Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief first came to him while he was teaching Greek mythology at middle school in San Francisco. But rumour has it that Camp Half Blood actually exists, and Rick spends his summers there recording the adventures of young demigods. Some believe that, to avoid a mass panic among the mortal population, he was forced to swear on the River Styx to present Percy Jackson's story as fiction. Rick lives in Texas (apart from his summers on Half Blood Hill) with his wife and two sons.

The Myth Master Delivers Yet Again!SoN is just awesome! The plot, the characters, the suspense... everything is well done. But I miss Percy's first person narration, and his sarcasm has toned down a lot. Frank and Hazel are good supportive characters.

ITs Good, Could have been better..Since everyone seems to be having very high expectations of this book as its coming after such a long time and has Percy in it, I would like to give some bad news. Its not that great as I thought Percy will make it. I missed the first person narration, and just waited for his part to come. Missed Grover terribly. He and Percy were so great. Not much humour either. -.-

A must read for all dose hu havent read heroes of olypus series!Even though it lacks first person narration of Percy, this book has widened the scope fr imagination by including Romans....its beautiful how Riordan manages to give all d correct facts about mythology even while weaving so immensely complicated a tale. The major drawback that i found in dis buk was dah i think percy was a bit sidetracked in d middle nd it felt lyk he was just an aid......i kinda miss percy's leadership in d quests. Buh d tale was so gripping....waiting for the next book is lyk torture...Marks of athena !

falls short !!!!In the Olympians series, when our heroes were up against the Titans, it was blood and gore all the way. The giants don't seem to be much of a challenge. 2 baddies down in 1 installment (and these were meant to destroy Posiedon and Hades......laughable). The effort on our heroes parts as they overcome the "Anti's" of two major gods just doesn't cut it. In flashback Medusa and Minotaur had posed more of a challenge and put up more of a fight against Percy than these two. Hope Mark of Athena turns out to be better than this.

Percy jackson's back, but in a mature wayA refreshing read from the master Rick Riordan, who takes us back into the Ancient Greek mythology. Plus, this book is much better than the previous one, The Lost Hero. The characters are interesting. However, fans of Percy Jackson might be disappointed. Percy is more mature than before, so slightly less funny. Its seems as if the qualities that made us love Percy were distributed among the other characters. Nevertheless, a must read. Worth every penny spent!!!

Entertaining as everThe familiar hero, Percy in an unfamiliar setting (Roman). It was interesting noting all the differences and parallel between Roman and Greek culture and gods. Now I can't wait to see what happens when these two groups are brought together in next book. Hazel and Frank were good characters, but missed all other characters like Annabeth, Grover, Chiron and even Clarisse.
