    An absolutely Refreshing read!

The best books are the ones that make you think! Even better ones make you introspect.
More than anything, I loved the book for the profound positivity and calm I felt while I was reading it.
The narrative, written in the POV of various characters, gives us a varied insight into the workings of the human mind. Be it Ayaan's quest or Ashutosh's, the urge for inner peace and enlightenment is the same, albeit we all trod along different paths to achieve it.

The simplicity of the language is ...

    A Brilliant Story of Life!!

I sat down to read the e-version of the book. The story revolves around few characters like Ayan, Calliope, Vashudha who are from different parts of the world with different background.
While Ayan has worked as a Scientist from India in Geneva, Calliope was from Vienna. Vashudha is a celebrity singer from Mumbai and Ashutosh. Ashutosh had always been dreaming about meeting the Monk and to get to understand the meaning of life. He gets to meet Anishka - a Yogini initially who is the principle...

    WONDERFUL BOOK by SHASHIDHAR

When I opened the parcel itself I could find that a sort of peace surrounded my mind a sort of awareness). As I started reading it I felt very gloomy and sorrows filled my heart - I don't know why. But as I continued reading I could understand that it was (may be) because of the agony Ashuthosh underwent.

Later on after few chapters my mind became peaceful and in the very next chapter itself Ashu could come out of that slowly.
Kyaka - helped Ashu to come out of his agony and Karma to enabl...

Wonderful book to understand philosophy of life !!!

“You cannot go on drifting forever. Everyone has a specific place in the cosmic fiber of the universe and if you do not find it for yourself, you will be forever travelling without knowing where you have to go. So look deep into yourself and find the reason for your being.”

It’s a wonderful book. A beautiful description of nature, Himalayas, snow clad mountains, misty sunrises, tranquil sunsets, chirpy mountain streams, pious Ganges, dense forests, hidden caves, animals, birds....it’s so eng...

A must read book for all!!

In this 21st century, wherein everyone is busy living his or her own life, people hardly get any time for a deep introspection of themselves. Most of the people all around the world do claim that our religious scriptures have lost their sheen and their worth as it is hard to implement those principles in our real life. However the author has vividly proven that our religious texts still hold a lot for an intellectual and the society as a whole.

Enumerating the story of the 5 protagonists, f...

A Welcome Change instead of cheesy rom-coms

There are books that make you wonder what is one's purpose in life. There are books that go a step forward and offer you a choice of options that can guide you on to find your own special mission.

Shashidhar Sharma distils his life experiences of many years in his maiden attempt blending fact, fiction and the wisdom gleaned from masters to produce a spell-binding work that leaves youa sking for more. This is not child's play romantic fluff that you can finish in under two hours. This is a la...

The journey is all that matters...

I am not an avid reader. It takes a lot of effort for me to push myself to have to read a book (fiction, non-fiction, academics or whatever). Reading others reviews on both Amazon and Flipkart, this book managed to get me intrigued because of the science and god aspect to it. Furthermore, after attending the book launch on a chance encounter, I felt a strong urge to read the book and I did manage to do so.

This review on Songs of the Mist is not going to focus majorly on the story but rather...
